Frustrating Registration/Premature Dead Batterie
Bought 2 units, 1 for the hot water tank and 1 for my laundry room. One of the 2 had been bought and returned by someone before I bought it. Little did I know that to activate my detector I would have to register it. Sounds simple enough and was for the brand new unit. Not so for the other unit. Turns out that the previous owner had registered it, meaning I couldn't until I called Honeywell customer service, which itself was a very frustrating experience. I was on hold for about an hour on day one with nobody ever answering. On day two, I tried to opt for the call back option, but it wouldn't work, so I stayed on hold again. Finally, someone took my call after about 45 minutes of being on hold. BTW, the online chat option would not work, so that was not an option for me either. I was then informed by the customer service rep that Honeywell would have to email the previous owner to make sure they did not own it any more before Honeywell would unregister it, so that I could then register it. I was told that as soon as they responded and confirmed that they no longer owned it, then I'd be informed and could register it. If they did not respond after 3 days, Honeywell would then unregister it and inform me. The latter is what happened in my case. I was able to finally register my detector 5 days after I purchased it. Had I known this would be my experience, I would have returned it as soon as realised that I could not register it right away.
As far as I know, both units are working but then again, I haven't had a water leak or freezing conditions. So unless I intentionally test them, I won't know if they're working.
I was also disappointed to have the batteries in the brand new unit die after only one month of operation. I set the updates for once a day as recommended to maximise battery life to ~ 1 year. Ha, not even close. I got 1 month, 1/12th of what the manual said I should get. I installed new batteries and am now waiting to see how long this set lasts. If they die in another month or so, I'll be returning both units and will look to another manufacturer.

Challenging installation-inconsistent connectivity
Somewhat challenging to set up as the setup instructions were incorrect. Had to google the app to discover the old app had been discontinued & replaced with a new one. Device has lost connectivity multiple times since installation & takes several days to come back online

Piece of peace.
Great little device. I am using it as it was designed, however, I had purchased it for another purpose initially. I originally had in mind to monitor my sewer backflow valve, however, I designed and patented a device for that purpose.

Keeps going offline...
I can't speak to its effectiveness since we haven't had a leak, but it keeps going offline, even when I take it out of the utility room and place it closer to other devices that are online. I will probably need to buy a repeater for my router and place it near the utility room.

Love my water leak & freeze detector
I am loving my water leak and freeze detector. The monitoring software which I use on my iPhone is great to have real time information. It allows me to monitor the humidity and temperature. Very easy to to set up as well. Overall happy customer.

Water damage costs magnitudes more than this
I bought this after my dishwasher leaked. I had considered purchasing this earlier, but put it off. Then, the dishwasher drain hose had a leak, and sent water down to the suite below. Regret! Don't be like me. Get this, and save yourself 10x the cost.

Great product! from
Great product does what it’s supposed too
I like the notifications I receive however the “leak” stick got a tiny drop of water on it and shut the tank down so I had no water. I couldn’t get the system to reset had to call my plumber back out. Come to find out the original installer had it too close to drainage spout. It’s worked fine ever sense.
