Set it and forget it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy installation and decent price. I have not had a test case yet (thank goodness) but they appear to be operating properly and weekly push button tests have gone without a hitch. I see complaints from some consumers regarding expiration date. I think it's important to note the date on the back of the detector is actually the manufacture date, so mine was only 2 months old at time of purchase. I definitely recommend! I purchased 6 of these smoke detectors to replace the old hardwired alarms in my home. These were extremely easy to install - had them all up within 30 minutes!

Looks Nice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter just bought her first house and we installed these smoke detectors in her upstairs and downstairs rooms. They don't stick out like a sore thumb, hardly noticeable. They install close to the ceiling so they look updated. We tested them and they are extremely loud which I am happy about and the light seems to be bright enough should she ever need it in a true emergency. I will definitely be looking into more of these to install in the near future. I would recommend these especially if you have children because the light will help them see to get out.

Great detector
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great compact detector that is lithium battery powered. I added this smoke detector to my laundry room since there was not one wired there. It has a 10-year lithium battery so no need to worry about checking the batteries yearly or having those annoying low battery chirps with 9V battery systems. The LED light is not very bright and is a little disappointing; I guess it would be helpful in an emergency but don't count on it to provide significant illumination to find your way out. It also has an alarm test/silence button to help with those false alarms.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this in addition to several hard wired fire/smoke alarms to serve as extra protection. Having been a firefighter for 30 years I can testify to the benefits of having, using, and maintaining quality smoke alarms. What enticed me about this particular was the safety light. My hope is that those that purchase this in the future will be aided by being able to see just enough to assist them exiting their home in the event of a fire. It's an addition that is a long time coming. I have had the opportunity to test under actual smoke conditions, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

A must have
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a must have item for any home. It really gives you piece of mind and security of fire in your home. It easily detects smoke and I've experienced it's ability not by a fire but my wife's cooking. I would much rather it be a dinner bell than its intended use but like I said it makes me feel safe at night. I love that it has a ten year battery so I'll never have to worry about a dead battery. And the led escape light is certainly also a plus. I strongly recommend having this smoke detector in your home.

It is so frustrating following the recommendation on most other smoke detector , which is too replace the 9v battery every single year. This smoke detector was super easy to install and once you set it you can forget about it and know that your are protected for the next ten years It also has a cool feature which is an escape light that lights the area in the event the power is out and there is an emergency,

Works great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a smoke detector going out so I ordered this one. I love the light on it so it can help you escape. It is slim and nice looking so it doesn't look to bad hanging on the wall. We got this just in come cause my wife decided to try and burn some cookies in the kitchen. It went off and worked great. She realized the issue and we were able to air out the house and get the smoke alarm to stop going off. She was upset she burnt the cookie, but was glad that this one was so that it went off and we were able to get them out of the oven.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First Alert - First Alert PR710E Slim Smoke Detector with Photoelectric Sensor and LED Escape Light seems to work great. The test work. I hope I never have a chance to use it in real life. I do feel safer knowing it is there. I love that it has an led escape light. Once again I hope to never have to use it but if I do I know its there. If you need a smoke detector I highly recommend the First Alert - First Alert PR710E Slim Smoke Detector with Photoelectric Sensor and LED Escape Light. You will not regret it.
