What happened to this product?
I have used this product for years. It is been about 5 years since I've had a project where I needed to use window glazing. The last time I use the product it was amazing. This time it is been the worst product I've ever used. There's way too much oil that they put in it now. It has been over two and a half months and still leaves a fingerprint when I touch it. I've had it indoors and in a nice environment. I went to look for another product and it turns out this is the only one on the market now at any store. I am going to have to find a different product and buy it in stock. As I read through all of these reviews and see the response from the manufacturer is to read the package. I've read the package and still after 7 to 12 days there is no skin forming on any of my window.I'm about to go and do commercial windows again and there's no way I would use this product ever again. This project was only supposed to be out of the window for two weeks. It has been three months now this window has been out of their house because of your product.

Not recommended-has not cured since August
This project has been my absolute Nemesis since August once I figured out how to apply it and shape it all was good until now it's November and it still won't dry I used oil based primer on parts of it apparently that weren't dry enough and now it peeled and molded. It doesn't appear as if it's ever going to dry now. I've had them in my basement for in a controlled of environment since then and they absolutely will not dry. Must have gotten a bad batch or something.

Do not buy this product if you live in a humid climate!
There should be a specific disclaimer on the product that it grows mold if used in a humid climate! I chose this product to restore 22 windows on my 1926 home because of its ease of use. I know the directions say "don't use when it's damp outside" but there should be more specific warnings about what happens if you do. It's never NOT damp here, and most products have the same kinds of warnings, and I had to use something...unfortunately, I found out the hard way that the linseed oil in this product was the perfect breeding ground for a moldy mess. After so much work to restore these windows, I was very disappointed. I'm still dealing with the mold problem and I'm not sure if anything will resolve it. I might have to take it all out and start over from scratch with a different brand.

Funny reviews
I was blessed to receive a lesson from my father, a British trained journeyman carpenter/cabinetmaker. Roll it in your hands to soften it. That's the most valuable lesson. It's an art form, a bit like golf, the more you do, the more you'll love the exercise. As a pro heritage restoration painter, there is no other choice on the market. Also makes a great filler for nail holes & joints on interior trim. One just needs to take care like any pro should. Not for amateurs who can't recover from a mistake.

You know I'll get the job done from
Good product need patients to do a good job
At first when I was trying to figure how to use this product I got easily frustrated and didn't want to do the job anymore. Although I kept on going and was able finish 10 windows in 3 days. I found it easier to use the putty with latex gloves on because the putty doesn't stick to your hands and it helps you smooth it out. At first I was using a wide putty knife but that didn't work good because it was hard to work in the corners and places like that so I bought the tiniest one they had probably 5cm wide and went to work and it turned out great by the end in my opinion for a first time user. I found when I left the putty in the sun it made it stickier and easier to smooth out. Dry time on the container says 7 to 14 days so you have to be patient with this product. After 3 days of sun about 20 - 28 degrees celius its has a harder top layer but is still soft.Overall I liked this product.

Online instructions and tips would be nice
On line instructions and tips to use product would be nice. Print on tub is difficult to read being both small and blurred.

best all around glazing
I am restoring 39 windows in my 1936 colonial. Way too cost prohibitive to hire out. I've been at it for 2 years; my only experience, I am a lawyer by trade, is with my own windows. I have found DAP 33 "easy" to use and there is a uniform consistency from can to can. Simply work it in your hand, apply and cut it with whatever knife you can work with. I keep a little linseed oil on hand and occasionally lightly coat my knife if I find it dragging. It took a couple windows to improve my technique, but I can do a 6 over 6 in an hour or so. I tried Sher Wms glazing (I use their paint), but too sticky and much harder to work with. Bottom line, if you have some experience, this product works as advertised.
