Too watery - no good
So thin and watery, it was impossible to work with. I've used many other brands, this was the worst.

I like this stuff!
I had 3 lbs. of the Wall Joint Compound that was left by the previous homeowners. It was pretty dried out so I kept adding water little by little to get the consistency I desired. Then it was time to go to work patching and texturing some drywall. I am far from an expert at this but I think things went very well. I will be taking this with me to my next home. Great product in my experience!

Like spreading soup on your walls
I bought two buckets at my local lumber yard. There is currently limited supply of joint compound in our area and they didn't have any compound from their usual manufacturer so I thought I'd give DAP a try. I've done plenty of drywall in my life and this is by far the worse joint compound I've ever used. It was almost the consistency of a thick soup, it barely stayed on my hawk or my knife. I seriously think I had more joint compound end up on my floor and clothes than on the walls.

1st 1lb bucket was great 2nd bucket was terrible
Doing a bathroom remodel not first time doing drywall work. Purchased two 1lb buckets and the second bucket is so thin that I can not keep it on the knife or the wall. Very very frustrating and disappointed. Makes for extra work and clean up. Didn't want to have to mix dry compound but looks like that's what I will have to do just to use up what I have. I would give this five stars if both buckets performed like they where supposed to but at this point it's 50/50.

Great Joint Compound
First time using joint compound. Spread easily. After it dried, wet-sanded. I was amazed I ended up with a bathroom ceiling that looks "normal" after having lived with a patched, re-patched lumpy, peeling surface. Not realizing how different muds can be, tried another brand which was a disaster so am going back to and sticking with DAP Wallboard Joint Compound. Love it.

So many dry clumps!
I'm retired now and have been doing spackle/plaster work in my house for decades. Bought a small 12lb bucket of DAP Wallboard Joint Compound from my local hardware store. I've never experienced so many dry clumps in a bucket of spackle large or small. I'm working through it but wonder how such a poor product get shipped. Disgraceful.
