Very good results using as a roof coating
Very happy with the results of using as a roof coating to revitalize my built up roof.
Absorbs into the felt paper, seals and reduces brittleness. Reasonable cost. I would only recommend using on a reasonably warm sunny day. I was 65-75* when I applied. Gets hard to apply when it is shady and cool.

Great as a Driveway Sealer!!!
This product has a Very special quality that 98% of all other driveway sealers today do Not have. This coating is asphalt based. Other driveway sealers are coal tar emulsion based and not solvent based. This means it is a "water based" product. The way to know is read the cleaning instructions. If it says dries in 3 - 6 hrs and clean with warm soap and water instead of mineral spirits and or turpentine then it is water based sealer. The Coal Tar Emulsion style is more of a black paint. Nothing more. The solvent based tar sealers is actually what was used when making the pavement. So it will actually adhere and bond to the existing driveway and especially within the cracks as it is the same bonding agent used in the orig make up of the pavement.
It spreads a bit on the thicker side. I use a large squeegee to apply and don't mind the thicker mix. You can easily thin out a bit by adding gasoline/ mineral spirits/ turpentine to thin out a bit. Stir it in and it will evaporate after on the driveway. Set our your buckets in the sun prior to use allowing the sun to do its work and warm up the tar.
Here is the reason for the importance of this product. When you use this product on your drive, and you fill the cracks etc. on hot days this product will actually continually soften up and heal the cracks permanently. The coal tar emulsion product is a hardening product and never softens and will actually crack where your crack is and never re heal.
I have been coating my pavement style drive with this type of sealer for approx. 30 years. Learned from my Dad. He was a research chemist and understood this stuff. He had the same success rate on extended years of longevity and not having to repave on his paved driveway. My drive is still in very good shape.
Only one down side to this product . . . on very warm 90 degree days, the surface of the drive will soften a bit and it is possible to get a little on the soles of your shoes and track into house. There is down side to everything. Upside is your driveway will last 5X longer years than if you use the coal tar emulsion.
