DO NOT USE
I had a small tear in my black perforated car seat; for starters, it could barely patch the tear. The next major flaw was the color; I used black paint hoping it could blend similarly into my black leather car seat, but I was wrong. It looked terrible after the heating process of the paint. The worst part is that it is nearly impossible to remove the product after it is heated leaving you with a complete eye sore.

Terrible product
The compounds never dried overnight and ruined one of my shirts.

Never dries
Terrible! Buy the kit that cures in air. Adhesive is okay, but color stays sticky and wet no matter how much or how often heat is applied. I tried the transfer tool, heat gun, and direct application of the iron multiple times and nothing worked. Customer Support just says make sure heat is 300 degrees. Whose iron has a built-in thermometer?

Works Great
This worked great! I had been researching vinyl/leather repair kits as I have several pieces that my kitten had gone to town on - all the kits have good and bad reviews. I wanted one that heat cured as I thought that would give best repair, so I figured for the money I would try this one. I took the advise of 2 other reviewers and made sure to precisely fill the scratches and used the iron directly over the texture patch (I did try the included heat transfer tool, but then decided to just use iron directly being super careful not to burn the leather). The instructions tell you to heat to 300 degrees - my iron only has fabric setting so I used the synthetic setting. The hardest part is mixing the color to match - so far I've done my off white / beige recliner - I used white with a little brown, yellow and smidgen black to get correct color. Most of the scratches are unnoticeable. For those who endeavor to use this, my advise is if there is a piece of the original leather pealed up or pulled back, try to preserve as much of it as you can - put the paint on the scratched part and reposition the flap then gentle press it into place with the provided spatula. Put the texture patch over and iron - it will blend in perfectly. I also used toothpicks to apply the paint and q-tips to clean around area (sometime my finger lightly). It is time consuming process, but well worth the effort. I happen to like fixing things and have an art background (bachelors in architecture) which definitely helped. Next I'm gonna tackle Burgundy dining chairs!

This stuff NEVER dries!! EVER.
I paid a lot of money for this kit. Tried it several times..on the seat of my Lexus and on two chairs. Followed the directions TO A TEE. The adhesive and the patch parts are fine, but then you apply the color compound, the 'grain sheet' and apply heat, let cool, remove, RUINED...REDO...REPEAT...I would recommend this to my daughter's ex best friend whole's dating her boyfriend, and her ex boyfriend. That's about all.1

Good product, takes time
Overall worked good! hardest part is matching your color, took me a couple tries. Use the iron on the drying process, that little piece of metal and stick will take you forever. Cover the whole grain piece in tape as well as the area you're working around. I used blue painters tape and works well. Just make sure you don't touch the iron directly to your leather/vinyl, keep the pointed end of the iron on the grain match piece. I've repaired mutliple areas now without issue - just takes time.

Nope
Followed directions - did not work. No grain transferred. Color did not dry/cure. Tears did not fill well. Waste of time and money.

Just need to apply heat
The product works as advertised. Lots of negative reviews but before you turn away realize that the paint will not dry without heat. Instead of an iron I used a heat gun to heat the “iron” provided. Works so much better. Just apply the iron and heat it up constantly and iron out the patch. It will work if you realize the paint will not dry if you don’t have enough heat. First time using this and happy to stop the cracking in my seats.
