Manufacturer Name MILWAUKEE ELEC TOOL
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised When I first inserted a bit I had a moment where I thought I was in the same boat as some of the people commenting here, a manufacturing issue where the retainer on the inside was too small making it too difficult to add or remove bits. Then I thought about it and realized this isn't exactly a tool with moving parts, so how is it supposed to be a durable bit holder that actually holds the bits firmly? Clearly the retainer is very snug at first, but after some use it doesn't take a pair of pliers to remove short bits. I recommend biting down on a random bit with some locking pliers and just working it in the extension about 10 times or so. Now my bits pop right in and they stay in, because the retainer holds them more snug than my other extensions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bit stuck? no problem King Arthur may have pulled the sword out of that stone but no way he's pulling a bit out of this. If you get a short flex impact bit stuck in it use needle nose and all your strength to pry the bit out. anything longer you can probably use a vice somehow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Able to remove the Bit I recently bought Milwaukee M12 3/8 drill/driver kit and 35 bit set. Shockwave bit holder was part of the bit set. After putting a 1" #1 + bit i am not able to remove it. So I am down to 34 bits now. Bit holder is not usable with other bits any more I guess.I have to buy separate bit holder now NOT THIS ONE THOUGH!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One Bit Holder I placed a phillips bit into the bit holder. It is still there, despite heroic efforts to remove. It moves about 1/16th out of the holder and will not budge further no matter what I've tried. Unfortunately I purchased as part of a set of impact bits and now an incomplete set remains and a bit holder with a stuck bit. Unhappy, and I've really liked Milwaukee in the past. Seems like a design problem, read above reviews.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor tool I bought this item because I wanted it to last. I was doing a metal siding project and wanted a long lasting holder. It lasted about ten screws and went bad. ( I got it at the orange store and have returned it). Very disappointed in it and Milwaukee tools.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unable to remove bit I am unable to change bits. I inserted a Robertson #1 bit and no matter how I try, I cannot remove the bit. There are no instructions on the package nor on the Milwaukee web site. Neither are there any details to advise the user how the bit holder should be employed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds bits secure. I often use Robertson drive screws in my projects. Robertson tips are designed to fit so snugly that after driving a screw, the insert bit usually stays in screw head instead of in my bit driver! Milwaukee makes the only easy to find (read, in the big orange store) 2" insert bit driver with a retainer ring as well as a magnet. Now, my insert bits stay in the holder and NOT behind in the screw. As a note, the retainer ring loosens up with use. The first time you remove the bit, it will be very still, but this is a feature, not a flaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bit holder, Yet. Up until a year ago, I only used yellow ones. Once it broke, I replaced with the Shockwave. The reason I do like them may be a negative by others, but different applications require different uses. This magnet is really magnetic and I like that. Sure the bits are not easy removed without a pliers, but the fastener holding ability is a small trade-off in my applications. With the numerous impact cycles mine has been through, It is a good value.
