Think winter
We live in Minnesota where the ground is frozen. Someone just backed into this mailbox post, and we were able to simply trim it and re-bolt it to the stake. Our mailbox is on an incline, and we have no issues with rot of the post. Just wanted to counter the negative review posted. Also, it is better not to sink mailbox posts in cement as IF a plow does hit it, it will not injure the plow. We will put the new post up in the spring, but we have a mailbox in the winter because of this design. Thanks, Rubbermaid.

BAD BAD BAD
This came with an untreated wood stake for connecting post to ground.
Rotted and fell over in two years. Unless you really like working on junk, leave it at the store. I would have rated this lower but the stars quit before going negative!
