Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flexible, great addition to the kit I got this as part of a special deal where I bought the cast iron dutch oven, the cast iron grate and this. To be honest this is the one part of that trio I thought would be the least useful, but it has become a solid part of my repertoire. I followed the advise of the incomparable John Setzler and first tried the "Smash Burger" recipe, and I was hooked. This made it super easy, and made for a darned fine burger. Maybe not the every day use, but it is handy, and a welcome component of my Kamado Joe kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Iron half moon is a MUST have! This is the ONLY way to fix steak and the best cheeseburgers EVER! Filet Mignon - grill set up : half moon indirect heat, iron half moon direct heat. When the temperature is 250, throw in a chunk of hickory and place the coarse sea salt and fresh ground black peppered steak on the indirect side, when dome temperature reaches 450, place a little butter on the flat iron griddle for each steak...sear... repeat the square of butter for each steak when you flip the meat. (I also sear the steak briefly on all sides...), probe with a meat thermometer and when desired temperature is achieved.... you will Thank me
