Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible, Aphid infested Transfered my tomato plants with this Raised Bed Soil. Within days started seeing bugs eating my plants. Identifying them as Aphids. These plants have been raised indoors. My 36 healthy plants have been devastated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not organic I bought two bags today and these were inside. Labeled 100% organic. Is it from a landfill? This is the second battery I have found inside this product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible! Did not expect all the flying insects Unfortunately we bought 30 bags of this packaged organic raised bed soil only to find they are all full of fungus gnats that will eventually kill all my plants including my strawberries I dug up to plant in a raised bed now Im so sad I did. Besides the fungus gnats there is another flying insect many of them that cannot be good either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great for me! So many bad reviews, but I purchased many bags in 2022 and it was fantastic! Quality was great! Maybe the quality control problems have been fixed? I sure hope so, since I've been recommending this product to other family members.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from glass and plastic in soil I have used other Miracle Pro bagged soils for years and have been happy with the product. We recently filled a raised box bed with Miracle Pro for raised beds. Glad I had gloves on when I was making the holes to plant seeds into because I found glass bits. Then I started looking closer and found garbage bag fragments and other plastic bits.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Test the PH! I bought this soil for new raised garden beds in 2022 even though it was more expensive than competitors. Since it was marketed to raised beds with a lovely illustration on the packaging, I thought it would be good for my first try at having a raised planter bed instead of an in-ground garden. I transplanted very lovely tomato and pepper plants into the boxes and also tried to start a container breed of cucumber and salad herbs. At first my plants didn't seem to grow and eventually they started turning sickly. I thought I was a really bad gardener until I came across a Soil Test Kit. I started with the PH test and found that the soil is returning a very purple color which is indicating the soil is too basic (somewhere in the 9-11 shade). Most of my plants are listed as needing to be in the 6.0-7.0 range. If you are a beginner gardener and do not know how to add soil additives to correct the PH, I would recommend avoiding this soil!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t Buy I bought this product this year, 4 bags add to the soil, Each bag had plastic, large wood pieces, the first time I had major problems with my tomato plants. It had everything but soil in it. Terrible cheap product disguised as a premium product and organic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful!!! I bought nice, deep raised beds and filled them with this crap!!! I have now spent hundreds more $ amending it because all my plants were showing signs of nutrient deficiencies. After adding worm castings from a local bulk place and weekly amendments with liquid organic kelp fertilizer as well as other organic soil from Fox, my plants are starting to turn green and grow. I, too, have found plastic in my soil. Disgusted with this company!I will never buy another miracle grow product!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money I purchased several bags for my raised garden thinking it would work as well as MG potting soil that I would normally use with wonderful results. I am sad to say that MG raised bed soil is a non performer. My plants are not thriving in this soil. I am disappointed. I cannot recommend this product and next year I’ll be going back to MG potting soil. It is what it is, not very good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Poor Quality I bought this about a month ago to supplement the MiracleGro Moisture Control Potting Mix that is not specifically for vegetable gardening. The two types of soil replaced in two different raise beds. These beds had no contact with the ground. In every bed containing the raised bed soil I found more weeds and grasses than I’ve ever seen in one of my raised beds. I looked in the bag at the soil that was left and saw lots of sprouts on the surface and when I dug down into the bottom they were throughout. It’s actually a little funny because the weeds are growing vigorously while my pepper plants are struggling. Where the weeds come up in with the tomatoes however, the tomatoes are doing OK. As long as I keep pulling up weeds every day. Beds in pots with the moisture control soil don’t have any of those problems. The raised beds are all next to one another and receive therer same sunlight, water, and fertilizer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plants not growing In every box I used this mix in, the plants are not growing at all. They are struggling and some look like they might die. Boxes where I used another brand are thriving as are any I planted in my native soil. I would steer anyone away from this mix or really any of your soil mixes. Not worth the risk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Full of wood chips & possible herbicide contaminat I was excited to try this organic soil for my newest raised bed. However, my excitement turned to disbelief when it looked like a bag of wood chips. I thought maybe it was one bag, but all looked the same. Now after 2 months, my tomato plants have barely grown and squash seedlings are dying. I've heard of herbicide soil contamination, so I'm guessing I've lost an entire batch and will have to start over. I won't be making that mistake again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Garbage I have never had any problems growing my vegetable garden until I used this stuff. I needed to replenish the dirt in my raised beds so I bought 15 bags of this stuff and worked it in. Now every single one of my plants has fungus and are dying. I will never buy another Miracle Grow product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware- Glass found in soil I wish I had read some of these reviews prior to purchasing. I hasn’t had my plants in the soil long enough to comment on how the soil is for them, but I used 5 bags and found bits of plastic in all of them and glass in 2 of them. My kids were helping me plant the garden and thank goodness I found the glass first because the edges are sharp! How does organic soil have plastic and glass in it?? I will never purchase this product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bed soil [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This raised bed soil is great for the garden. We have a big garden and we love growing our vegetables in raised beds, and it was our first time using this oil, and we loved it so much. It is 100 % organic ,don't need any mixing and good for vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs. This soil will help you grow bigger, more bountiful plants. This soil is perfect for beginners, it is light soil and not too moist. This soils is perfect for outdoor plants.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miracle KILL Plants For Mother’s Day, we made 3 raised beds so that she could have fresh vegetables this summer. We purchased 20 bags of the Miracle Grow raised bed soil. Everything looked great when we planted it but now all three beds are dying. This soil is terrible. What a disappointment for my 78 year old mom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use fertile soil. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Mircle-Gro soil was very easy to use. We used it for planting flower pots for both my mother-in-law and my wife. The soil does a good job of water retention and the fertile properties have the flowers doing very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Window box soil [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this product for my outdoor window boxes here in hot sunny florida. So far so good seems to have like a mulch already included. Retains water well but not quite as good as I had hoped. Plants grew very strong and large. After 3 months the so is still going strong, alot of bagged soils turn to sand down here in florida. I would recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't use it in a pot [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks like a good mixture, however I used it in a pot and didn't work out. I didn't have any veggies at the time so I planted some milkweed in a pot and it didn't survive. I will try again with veggies next time. I was given free product for this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good soil - no debris. I read these reviews and felt I needed to add mine. Just put nine bags in my new raised bed, including one that had been opened and restored by the store. No debris whatsoever. I’m sure my plants will be very happy. See picture.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Something wrong with last two batches purchased I have been using this soil to fill new raised beds in the past two years. I have purchased perhaps 80-100 bags, usually 5 to 10 at a time. Sometimes there is mold, and it is either infested with, or attracts fungus gnats. I quickly learned how to use sticky paper and Mosquito Bits to eradicate the gnats. This soil has performed well and I had been happy with the quality although I need to continually replenish as it settles. Lately, the soil has been more woody so plants are not doing as well but I continued to be loyal. The reason I am writing is that something is wrong with the last two batches purchased. In February, I redid an entire bed filling it with 10 bags of soil. There is a crescent shaped section where newly planted seeds did not grow. See photo (pardon the chopsticks - they are to discourage toads and cats). I removed the soil in this section and replaced with a new batch and now the entire bed seems fine. Unfortunately, this happened again recently in another raised bed. Brassicas which reliably grow well under the most arduous conditions have not grown and a section of spinach is stunted and has cup shaped leaves. A web search suggests herbicide contamination but I cannot be sure. Also, I do not know if and when the soil was contaminated. I only know it did not happen at my home because I do not use herbicides. Unfortunately, I do not feel comfortable using this soil anymore and will not be purchasing again as I am afraid of any potential health issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy for the beginning Gardner [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy for the beginning Gardner! Super easy dirt that contains nutrients and fertilizer for container or above ground gardening. I found that this soil is easier for my kids above ground gardening then what I choose to do. Because their vegetables don’t require as much support and nutrients consensancy. However if you are beginning Gardner great start. I definitely would recommend it. You can mix it with bark and anything else to build up the soil mixture and the drainage. It’s great soil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excited! We just bought 8 big bags of the raised garden bed soil for the garden bed my husband built for me. We’re going to try and grow lots of delicious vegetables. So far the plants are thriving thanks to all the extra nutrients provided in soil. I have high hopes this summer and will continue to buy these bags next year

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Quality Soil I have purchased more than 50 bags of this soil and on our first year of raised beds had fantastic results even though we were experiencing a drought. I am going to go against the grain of other reviewers in respect to foreign debris in the soil. In over 50 bags used I have yet to see anything other than pure composted soil. I have been gardening for 60 years and am completely satisfied with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miracle-Gro Raised Bed Soil [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The soil in San Antonio is ver hard and filled with clay. It’s hard to grow anything directly in the ground so we do raised beds. I love the Miracle-Gro Raised Bed Soil. It helps my vegetables grow big and beautiful. I do make my own compost that I add to it but this saves me so much work!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rich and moist soil [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Raised Garden Bed Soil looks rich and moist just like soil should be. This soil is made with 100% organic ingredients only and you’ll find tons of tiny wood chunks in it. I love how easy it is to use this soil! I usually mix new soil with my existing soil but this one does not even require any mixing and can be used as is right out of the bag. The soil does not contain any added fertilizer like some other soils do which I don’t mind since I fertilize all of my plants regularly anyways. Even though the soil is meant to be used in a garden bed, I’ve had no issues using it in some of my large planters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and Less Frustrating Gardening [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Miracle-Gro Raised Bed Soil makes it so easy and less intimidating to have a raised garden. I am enjoying just buying this one product for my veggie garden needs this year. I used the product to plant tomatoes, peppers, and squash so far and all of them are growing and doing good qith this soil. Definitely recommend using this for your raised gardening needs taking the guess work out of what to use.
