Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Yet I have had my Dewalt Weed Eater with this Head for 5 months and this head is the easiest I have ever used!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Never use with 0.080" line This is the head that came on my DCST970X1S. At first I was of the same opinion as the other reviewers here. Line breaks, gets sucked inside head, pain to open it up to get the line back through the eyelets. Then I decided to try the 0.95" line, problem solved. Dewalt if you want better reviews, STOP preloading it with 0.080" line!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks way too easily I have now gone through two of these spool heads, not because I am not careful, but because they are poorly made. Considering they hit the ground every so often, to feed the line, they are very poorly made. Sadly I would not recommend this producf

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Spool Head EVER This came standard on the DeWalt DCST920 that I purchased from Farm and Fleet. For one, their was no instructions on how to spool the thing, and after searching I found a video for an Echo trimmer that had the same head, even the instruction manual showed the other head that is available from DeWalt. Quality This trimmer head is very thin for the one piece that needs to be very thick in my opinion. The bump head wears down quickly and starts to fall apart after less than one year of regular use around my .25 acre yard. If you plan on using this around concrete, gravel or asphalt don't get this spool head. Rubbing this head around the concrete when edging the yard or curbs will over a short amount of time wear down the thin plastic on the lower part of the spool unit. I do not recommend this product. The trimmer is great, but not this spool head.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible We bought a Dewalt 60V Model# DCST970X1S electric trimmer. The trimmer is great, but this is the head that came on it when purchased and it is absolutely terrible. Difficult to load. If the string fails to feed (common), it is nearly impossible to get started again. It pretty much stopped feeding within two months... and I don’t have to do much trimming. Save yourself some headache and buy something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this Battery does not hold garage long - quick load string feature is junk. You will spend more time fixing string than you will trimming lawn. Lousy product

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bump Feed Does Not Work The concept of this is great. I have the 20V trimmer with the old head, and it drives me nuts to wind the thing manually. When this came out, I was super excited to get it. Unfortunately, there are like . . . six of these in the entire US, so I had to order mine from a dealer in NC (I'm in Ohio). I was really excited when it arrived. The feeding isn't as smooth as I was hoping, but it works. Unfortunately, it's not usable. Attempting to "bump" it only results in nothing happening, or even worse, the string actually *retracting* into the head. If that happens, good luck fixing it without unwinding the entire spool because of how the internal design is. It's a great concept, but the execution just sucks. From the other reviews on this, it looks like I'm not alone in my thoughts. So disappointing. Probably going back to the old head.
