Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Learning Curve I m not a woodworker. I suck at spackle. Me and caulk hate each other.. I so wish I would've read some of the comments here, especially the feedback from DAP. It took me two cans of the product to finally figure out how to use it correctly. Small areas and slight pre mixing. BUT...My patch turned out beautiful!!!!! No one can tell the difference from the patch and the real wood. I did make the stain on the patch just a hair darker then blended it to match. Don't overwork the product. Try a practice piece first. Thank you DAP for a fabulous product. It saved my bacon. And my moms table. And me since I'm the one that dinged it up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would be nice to have in caulk tube! I'm filling some glue-lam beams that have separated between the plies slightly. Not structurally a problem, but more astetically an issue. The tubs and tubes are difficult to apply in my case, and the quick dry time makes it challenging to get into the groves (1/2 - 1 inch deep and 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide). I have tried loading the product up in a clean blank tube of caulk with good success, but loading it is a pain and messy. Would be great to offer this in a caulk tube where the tip size could be varied and it would help it get into deep grooves or cracks and could be used for longer fill scenarios. Do caulk tubes of this product exist?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DAP works great ! I had a recent need for the product to fix part of my wood column outside that had a rotted hole. I added this product and was amazed by the coverage, lack of shrinkage and the ability to sand relatively quickly to a smooth surface. Well Done product !!!!! Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will NOT hold stain I refinished a vintage table, sanded, prepped, did everything I should have done then used min wax wood finish in special walnut and the cracks and holes that I patched will NOT hold stain...I've worked hard on this table and the stain is beautiful on the REAL wood but the DAP plastic wood looks HORRIBLE... now I'm going to have to figure out something else, I guess my table is ruined and I'm against painting it...I'm going to have to buy another product and start all over or just trash it...Thanks for such a misleading description DAP..!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works for me time and time again Most of the complaints I see is from people not familiar with dealing with puddy. If it is lumpy add some solvent (Polish remover ie Acetone) or is lumpy and has solvent mix it well. The thickness is the key to what project your working on. I used it on rifle stocks, desks, tables etc. just use some common sense and TLC.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product will not accept stain. Product states that it is Stainable and Paintable. This is not true. The plastic wood will not accept stain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look no further!!! The Dap Plastic Woodfiller is extremely easy to use, spreads easily with putty knifes. The natural wood color has a pale color when dry compared to other woodfillers I've used in the past which I feel normally have an orange color to them. This filler has some flex to it when it's dry so that should help with cracking overtime. I was surprised I had never seen this product before as I'm always trying new products to see what works best for my applications of either home repairs or Luthier work. If you're looking for a woodfiller that is going to move with temp and humidity changes I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. I was given this sample but will absolutely be buying more. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I really like this product I used it to repair some faults on my shed that has had some severe weather damage over several years and that's my own fault...I didn't paint when I knew it needed attention. I used Plastic Wood to repair cracks, divets, and general stuff. My problem is that it takes only moments for the stuff to dry in the sun's heat and slight breeze. When it gets that way, only moments after the can is opened, it's hard to use. It's too dry, it crumbles terribly and hard to get deep into cracks. What do I do???
