Terrible
Don't waste your money. This tape literally doesn't stick to anything. And the 4 places it did stick, it ripped the paint off from underneath. I was painting a diamond pattern onto my floor, spent 4 hours taping the pattern out, and by the time I started painting, ALL of the edges were off the floor. See pictures. I bought 4 rolls of this stuff. Scotch has always been a name brand in my house so I didn't even think twice when I saw this tape in the store. Never again will I buy a scotch product. This project was so stressful all because of some tape that doesn't even stick. How can you sell this product?

Horrible, will not stick, waste of money
If I could give this zero stars, I would. I’ve been painting the interior of an entire house and gone through A LOT of tape. I bought this one because what I usually use wasn’t available, and it was a huge mistake. I tried it in all conditions- cold, warm, dry, humid, windows open and shut, nothing makes a difference, this is simply a terrible product. No matter what I did- secured it with my hands, with a plastic scraper, with a metal screw driver, it bleeds through and often doesn’t stick at all! I ended up going over areas over and over and wasted a ton of it just trying to get it to stick (and yes, I thoroughly cleaned and dried the area before hand). This product created a ton of extra work for me and was a waste of money overall. Save yourself the trouble and go with literally any other painters tape!

Awful.
Terrible product. Keep trying to give it a chance but every time it’ll peel the paint it’s placed on. Doesn’t matter how clean the surface is or amount of time is given for surfaces to dry.

Not sharp by any means
I gave this painters tape a 2 for stickiness but my god, sharp this tape is not. Every line i taped, paint bled through. So now I have to buy new tape to repaint areas white where this bled. I’m mad i still have two rolls to use up.

Fell off clean ceiling before I could paint.
Trash. Just throw your money in the trash. Or better yet, just try and use the dollar bills to mask your project. They will probably stick better.

Hi, just wanted to let you know your product is 100 percent garbage. You’ve wasted my time as I spent all day taping only to find the next day, that the tape un-stuck. You should be paying me for my wasted time. I should have never used your garbage product and I will forever hate yoi.

does not unroll without tearing
We purchased 2 rolls for our home. The tape tears in strips so 2" tears to less than 1/8".

Tape is now plastic. Hard to tear.
I only have bought this because they were out of the regular blue tape. It was never very easy to tear but now it's worse, it's made out of plastic. Unless you're pinstriping cars nobody needs that thin a tape.
Your instructions to leave the tape on till the paint dries is incorrect. If you leave it on when it dries anything except dead flat paint will pull off the upper fresh paint layer. The way to paint is make sure the paint the tape is firmly down, brush or roll over it w paint pull the tape off and continue the wall.

Doesn't stick to anything let alone seal out paint
This doesn't stick to the walls, trim, glass, or even itself! I put it on only to look 5 mins later and it is dangling off the wall. How is it supposed to keep out paint if it's not even on the wall!?

Worst Tape In The Entire World!!
I bought several rolls of this tape to cover newly refinished trim in the hopes of preventing hours of cut in time when I paint my walls. The tape doesn't stick to the trim nor will it stick to itself when overlapped! I spent hours taping four large windows, trim around three doors and the baseboard to realize I need to do it all over again!

Terrible terrible tape. Will drive you to drink.
This tape is awful. It's only good if you like to play a little game of repainting what you've already painted. It not only removed my ceiling paint but also my wall paint so I got to repaint by hand the wall paint, let it dry and then repaint the ceiling by hand. Utter waste of money, time, paint, etc. I wouldn't recommend this paint tape to an enemy. Buyer beware it will pull the paint off without fail.

Worst product I have ever purchased
First off, I started using Blue Tape when it was actually 2.0" wide and I was working for a paint contractor in H.S. and college (1987-1995). The formulas have changed and 2093 was purchased to be dual use (sharp lines and hold painters plastic while working). 2090 was changed too, as the width, the base material and adhesives are not what they used to be, but that is now what motivated me to write a review.
This stuff - 2093 - doesn't stick to anything, not even the adhesive side of itself. I am attempting to put up plastic walls for dust containment during demo and everything is falling off the walls and ceiling. I even tried to "T" tape the plastic to the ceiling and it does not have the adhesive strength to hold anything up. Very frustrating.
The reason I paid the premium for Blue is because it does not harm the finishes you put it on. In this case, 2093 doesn't stick to the wall long enough to damage a surface, and it DOES NOT stick long enough for you to be able to use it as TAPE.
The photos show how the tape just curls off of what it is attached to and the tape that is adhesive side to adhesive side (at the ceiling) is just peeling and curling. Not working ad advertised.

Terrible
I have used 3m painter's tape for years and never had such a terrible time applying tape as I have today. I cleaned all baseboards before applying the tape. After applying the tape throughout part of the room, I noticed some of the tape coming off the baseboards. I redid those areas and continued taping the room. Before I could finish, more tape was coming off in multiple areas. I have wasted my time.

Disappointed Tape User from
I needed to paint the baseboards along my stairs. I wanted to protect my nice hardwood stairs so I opted for the more expensive ScotchBlue Sharp Lines Painters tape. I thoroughly taped off the entire set of stairs, and had two coats of paint on the baseboards in the next 48 hours. I was extremely disappointed to find out that on nearly every step the tape failed, and paint leaked through on to the stairs. What should have been a very easy cleanup of simply removing the tape has turned into nearly 6 hours on my hands and knees trying to remove the paint from the hardwood stairs.
Do not waste your money on this product. I have never had a problem with the normal ScotchBlue painters tape, but the sharp lines version is a huge waste of money and time.

Worst Tape I Ever Used! Shame on 3M for Garbage
I bought three rolls of this tape and it would not stick to anything. It wouldn't even stick to itself. I was so mad, I threw it all away. They make some really great tapes but this stuff is worse than the old yellow masking tape. DO NOT BUY THIS. WASTE OF $$$

Garbage - Bleed through and paint peel.
I purchased this to put lines on the wall and now I have to redo it with a different product. Paint bleed through was an issue on ever line. Then when pulling the tape off the wall it would pull chunks of paint off the wall.

Tape keeps lifting, does not stick well
This is honestly the worst tape I have ever worked with. It is constantly lifting up on its own. I would have been better with no tape at all. Very disappointing from 3m as I use a lot of their products and this one does not have the quality that others have.

Bad lines
Absolutely failed on walls which had been primed, painted (eggshell) and taped for stripes. Do NOT recommend. This will require days of fine touch-up to correct.

Doesn't stick
When I bought a name brand tape I expected for it to stick. I'm repainting my car and the tape doesn't hold the paper to the metal.
That's what I get for expecting quality from a name brand. Should have bought the cheap stuff.

nice edge, residue left behind
I give it credit for holding an edge and sticking well, but everywhere I used it the adhesive stayed on the surface when I pulled it off after only 1 day. Using it on a boat deck, where yes it is hot and sunny, but still I expected to get a couple of days before removing the tape. Now I have a huge project to remove all the adhesive everywhere I taped.

Worst tape I have ever used
Bought three rolls of this tape to paint a simple bedroom. I masked off the trim the night before so that I could cut in in the morning and the tape had fallen right off the wall over night. Thought it might be a dirty wall, but it did the same thing the next day when I ntapred off a freshly painted wall. Will find a different tape next time.
