Rated 4 out of 5 by from versatile useful little tool I've used this for various things. Right now I am using it in farrier work and this tool does great for rounding off the hoof wall and trimming the bars! I invert the blade so instead of the cutting edge facing the tip of the tool it faces the handle. using a motion pulling toward me or inverting it with the handle facing away to quickly shave around the edge of the hoof, and from the heel to the toe. Works great for touch ups! As with the oehr Surform blaes , one serious drawback in the jagged edge on one side. if this sticks out past the edge of the plastic , this can be dangerous! They need to be made with a flat edge on both sides! or at least these sharp edges filed off. I always wear heavy leather gloves when using. Blades are sharp

Rated 5 out of 5 by from imeasurable durable I purchased this tool in 1980, since then I've used it on hundreds of woodworking projects. Today the original blade finally broke, rather than buying a replacement blade I have decided to retire this tool and buy a new one after 39 years.
