Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great product I've been looking for a grill for a long time. I became aware of Oklahoma's Joe on the Internet and searched for a while here in Mexico - and found it. I've never unpacked anything in my life and I knew it was forever. Now yes. An amazing quality. Many thanks from a German grill and smoker fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ordering parts It would be so much simpler for ordering parts for your grill by having a picture of the grill to click on to… taking you to the that grills parts list. Instead of having to go find the model number…,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it About to start my 3rd season with this barrel of fun. It took a couple months to figure it out, coming from a cheap crap offset barrel charboil or w/e. Its pretty windproof, this thing (without a cover) survived the 120+mph Derecho that destroyed my part of Iowa, even this winter a gusty night blew my neighbors kamado joe off the patio and broke all the interior ceramics.. One of two issues I meant to address right away was adding the latches and gaskets to make it air tight, but two years later I still havent... if you know what your doing it does a great job holding heat out of box. I use exclusively hardwood lump coal to grill and self sourced split logs for smoking Second issue that hasnt been resolved yet is its not the friendliest thing to run out and grill a few burgers and a steak. Its 100 for low and slow, maybe a 30 for charring up something quick, I imagine if I ever took the time I could add something to raise the coals, or my plan B is I thing ill just finally buy the OKJoe kettle grill

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Grill Bought a Highland Reverse Smoker because I missed the smoke taste you can’t get from a Traeger. Love this grill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not satisfied My reverse smoker is terrible! I lose smoke and can’t regulate the temperature. I have yet cooked any good meats on this smoker!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Holding up well after four years Had one drop shipped about four years ago. It was a bit of a bear to put together, but it has held up well so far, no complaints other than I wish it had pneumatic tires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still working great Bought my OJ off set last year. Smoked chickens, pork shoulders perfectly but my favorite is smoked fish. Everyone likely has their approach but I can keep the smoker at 225-250 very easily for fish. No mechanical or functional problems at all….would highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome I bought the Highland reverse flow smoker about a month ago and so far I love it, the only thing that has happened so far is that on the smoker box by the lid the paint has started to peel. I have not contact Ok. Joes yet about the paint I'm sure they would send me some high heat paint to take care of it. Great Smoker!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Paint Bubbled On Sidebox Put Smoker together seasoned inside per instructions. When I actually used it for the first time the paint bubbled on the side box. I have had other brands of smokers over the years and never had that happen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent smoker for the price!! I bought this in Jan 2021, first offset smoker I've ever had or used and I'm 12 briskets in with this bad boy. I have the gaskets and latchs to hold the lid down and whatever temp I want it at, it holds all day. Even in the dead of winter in illinois, just takes a bit longer to heat up. So warp on the firebox, I could care less, it's fire and paint is going to burn away. Keep oil on it and it's been fine. I won first place for my chicken legs in a local comp with this smoker. Next I play on getting casters for it, you should give us an option to buy casters for your smokers. I wheel mine around a lot. But a very excellent smoker!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed. I used this grill for the first time on 05/30. I cooked back ribs and they weren't very good. I'm sorry I bought this grill.. It's hard to maintain temperature and it eats charcoal like a steam engine. I'm going to stick to direct heat for grilling. I feel I get better results. The Judge Charcoal Grill would have been a better choice for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highland Reverse Flow Great smoker. Like others who have commented, you must maintain the smoker, I also use peanut oil, and touch up the outside once a season with black grill paint. From the start I was able to set the temp. and walk away for 1/2 hour periods without temp. variations, now I use a ThermoWorks Signals and Control fan which gives me one hour increments of unattended smoking. My grill fits well and highest maintenance is the smoke box due to the heat on the steel, again once a season to keep in top shape. It's an easy learning curve with this smoker, I literally was able to adjust the flue and fire doors within the first hour to know where the sweet spot is, no additional adjustment required. Now if I could only figure out how to get brisket to smoke in half the time. Cheers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First burn in Didnt smoke with it yet but the assembly and burn in went very well. Only thing I wish was designed differently is closer spec on smoke stack and design for securing legs and stack other than a clamp bolt design. I did use the door clamps and OK mod seals. Put the seals around both doors and between 2 halves of firebox and not between firebox and cooking chamber. Needed 2 rolls of seal ti finish but have plenty left over. Did not have any smoke leak between firebox and cook chamber without seals. Still have some leaking around doors with the seals but very minimal! My biggest piece of advice is use charcoal to burn in while following instructions. I did not have any bubbling or peeling anywhere. With chimney in traditional port and baffles out I used 1 chimney full of charcoal in the fire box and 2 in the cook chamber on the charcoal grates spaced out time wise to raise temp slowly and careful not to exceed max temp of 450 so I targeted 400 using dampers. Very happy with smoker! Temps did not swing and were rather steady. When using temp probes the temp guage (the gauge glows in the dark!!!) that came with the smoker was very close to probe reading when probe was placed at the same level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Cooker but Poor Fitting Lid This is a great cooker and I love it. It didn't take me long to get the hang of using a slow cooker. I thought initially it might be a big deal getting temperatures right but it really has been very easy, except maybe in wind. The build quality overall is big, bold, heavy and old fashioned which is great and exactly what I want. The only issue is the poor fit of the lid on the cooking area. The gaps of 3mm or more cannot be covered with a gasket to seal it. I think it is just laziness in manufacture. I don't expect a precision fit but I think the fit is poor enough to call OJ out on this. I just have to accept that this does compromise performance, especially in wind. I can live with it. I love the cooker but I think OJ can easily remedy this if they choose to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Smoker! Easy to use, holds temperature well, easy to clean, compact. A great upgrade from my previous bullet-style smoker. Okay, honestly, I don't use reverse-flow feature. Tried it once -- the baffles are NOT easy to clean. lol Other than that, I am pleased with the unit. Would get the standard Highland model, not the reverse flow, if I were doing it again. I don't expect to ever need another smoker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the reverse flow but; I love the reverse flow smoking! I have smoked in mine for five times since I bought it a few months ago. The only negative remark is that the coating on the inside started peeling off after the third smoke session and by the fifth time, the coating starting falling off and on to the meat!! I coated the whole smoker after assembling it with a very liberal amount of peanut oil and then seasoned it for 5 hours. Let it cool and reapplied more oil. I have since power washed all the flakes off, degreased, and re-coated the bare metal with more peanut oil and will most likely have to continue this to keep the rust down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great after upgrades. Purchased a few months ago. The metal wasn't as thick as I had hoped for. I've added almost two hundred dollars in upgrades. It still doesn't heat to where I'd like but quite a bit better. I added latches for the lid, sealant all around,a gasket for the lid, replacement for the flimsy baffle, second temp gauge and a hole with grommet for the probes. After upgrading I can say it holds temp well and the concept works for putting smoke and heat across whatever you're cooking. Like others stated the paint peels off the smokebox and it didn't require that much heat to do so. It's pretty bad for what you pay it doesn't come with a grease catch/pail. It does come with cooking grates, charcoal grates and the box for the firebox. It's a great smoker with nice features. Not the easiest to convert to charcoal cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from King Oklahomajoe Well, I have never smoked meat before, last weekend was my first time and my wife has crowned me king Oklahomajoe. All I did was follow the instructions that came with smoker, seasoned it by brushing with some oil, then fired it up for up to 3 hours before putting some short ribs in, 6 hours later, I became King Oklahomajoe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality Control I was excited to get a new smoker. However, when we got it put together, one end of the drum (firebox) was warped making look like the firebox is sagging - but it works. The big problem was/is the smoker main lid was slightly bent and off alignment therefor lid did not seal hardly at all. I had someone drive 2 hours to pick this smoker up. Then had it put together before we noticed it. Did not try to return it as it would have been an issue to haul it another 2 hours back - plus we had guest coming for smoked meat the next day. It had good reviews, so I didn't expect this. I have ordered some gaskets, but don't know if they will help. Leaks everywhere around the lid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far So good... Been wanting a reverse flow smoker for a while, finally order it. Easy assembly, also used 650 RTV to seal all the areas and lavalock smoker gaskets for the lids. I have smoked a brisket and ribs so far and they have turned out great and used half of the charcoal and wood that use to use with my old smoker. Really like the stainless fire box basket, makes it easy for cleanup and to keep from getting ash stall.
