Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's an OK smoker I have had this just under a year now and it fit my budget. I made some modifications that helped a lot It's all about fire management when it comes to temperature control. I literally can't leave this smoker alone for a period of time because of the fluctuation in temperature. I continually struggle with maintaining a steady and optimal temperature no matter what I am cooking/smoking. I recommend to research a couple videos on this subject In the firebox, I've used a basket sometimes and I have just used the grate only sometimes. For me, I am having better luck with just a wood fire and no charcoal. It's a work in progress. The basket is a separate purchase The paint is starting to peel away from the side of the firebox and from the lids

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Bought this reverse flow smoker almost 3 years ago and have used it very often. The only complaint is the paint on the smoke box started coming off with the first use and we have had to repaint it several times.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I bought this a month ago and the first time we used it the paint started falling off the bottom. Very disappointed in this product

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Couldn't even put it together. My dad bought this smoker back in January and now that he has extra time and help, we have been trying to put it together this weekend. Everything seemed good, so far, except for the fact that there were no holes drilled into the 4 cylinders on the bottom that are supposed to attach to the legs. This is already an extremely heavy unit and we couldn't even put the legs on. He went and bought special drill bits just to create holes and thread them. It's been in the box for so long, couldn't even take it back to the store if we wanted to. There also isn't a hole on the smoke chamber to attach it to the smoker, so we'll have to do the same thing for that. We'll see what happens when it's finally finished and we can use it. I'll try to update or write a new review.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I would love to have offered a better review! Got finished yesterday with assembling and adding the following mods suggested on the Oklahoma Joe's website (I purchased their brand products for this), this includes extra thermometer, door seal, high temp sealant, and latches (from another vendor). So I loaded the firebox with lump charcoal (I added wet hickory chips for smoke) and fired it off for the first time to check for leaking and functionality. The first thing I noticed is that the thermometer the farthest away from the coals/firebox had condensation in it this am, after the grill got hot it also read about 125° higher than the add-on I just placed closest to the firebox! The far more troubling problem is that my doors are so warped that even with the latches/door seal smoke is leaking in several places around the door. In my opinion I would have been better served to purchase either the one I saw at a big box store at half the price with better fit and finish but lighter steel or the similar ones with the same heavy gauge steel at double the price that do no require mods for use. I really wanted to like this grill. John

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what they used to be I bought my first smoker (50.5” overall length) about 4 yrs ago and it has stood up to the heat I use to grill steaks. No warping. This longhorn offset (58” overall length) I bought from Char-Broil March 2019 is nothing compared. Thinner metal ( the lid on my older shorter one is heavier than this new one) First off the lid was dented, warped and miss aligned. I had to use a block of wood and hammer to make the curve of the lid match the curve of the body. Then I had to get a grinder to take out about 1/8” off the right side of the lid so it would shut .Every time I build a fire in it, which is once a week. I have to use a hammer to tap down the inner strapping thats under the lid so the lid will come down all the way, I would say seal but this pit never sealed until I got done fixing the shoddy assembly . It leaked air so bad at first, I had a very hard time keeping the temperature out of the red with the intake and exhaust fully closed. Sooooo you are asking yourself why didn’t I return it, well after waiting almost 4 weeks to get it ,I needed it for my once a week steak cook at a small cafe. With that said, if you use this smoker/grill in any manner associated with a commercial business it voids the warranty whether you stay within the cooking parameters It finally seals enough I can control the temp and that the most important thing but I still have to use a hammer on that inner strap every time I build a fire in it. Buyer beware in my personal opinion this longhorn offset smoker/grill is way over priced and of mediocre quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Paint Ruined My only complaint is the paint ruined with high flames at different occasions. Other than that it works perfect. We used last new year’s eve (2017-2018) at Rockford, IL with temperature of -5F (wind chill -25F) and it did its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pull the trigger on it! it's a beast! Great smoker and great size for the price (even in CAD $)!! Well built, very heavy, Fast and good price shipping! The fire box is huge, a 16 inch log fits easely in it!. Even if you have some experience using offset smoker, this big one will need a little bit of practice. The size of the cooking chamber and fire box needs a learnig curve to manage the temp and the amount of combustible. Doesn't need too much mods, only some gasket and son hi-temp sealicone too seal everything in place. The paint is a bit of a issue. You have to keep the fire away from the sides of the smoker or else the paint will peel off. I recommend using a fire basket in the fire box and larger charcoal grills in the smoker chamber if you want to use it like a bbq. Some touch up on the paint will have to be made down the road. But the paint is not a big problem, it's easy to fix! Dont hesitate, pull the trigger on it and be sure to have a friend with you when it's delevired ... you will need some help to move this beast! I recommend this product (even if I would like to be the only guy around having one!!!)
