Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad for plants I thought I was buying good soil...I bought 18 large yellow bags last year. I sell plants as a hobby, everything was going good till I bought this soil. It is just like a bag of peat moss. Killed cuttings and now it’s killing my repotted plants. It might be good if you mixed it with some pine bark or perlite... anything. I’m disappointed, and so are my customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good for Flowers! I would reccomend this product to anyone! I planted a mum in this potting mix and it has been doing good! I like the fact that it has moisture control!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gnats I bought this a few months ago. I had gnats in a plant that used it. After taking measures to avoid watering and adding pebbles as a topsoil cover the issue went away. I then noticed that the issue spread to several other plants. after a couple months I realize that this is only with the plants that are potted in this product (there are over 20 houseplants in my home). This product holds way too much moisture, I also lost some plants to root rot. I will never buy this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My mom's plant is dying. I used Moisture Control Potting Mix to repot the Peace Lily I received for my mother's funeral. It had grown so big that I had to repot it. I regret the day. My poor plant is dying and I am devastated. I pray I can save it by changing the soil. It has white mold growing on the top of the spoil. I have no idea what to do to save it but this is all things BAD!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Repotting half my plants in different soil! I bought this based on a recommendation and thought the moisture control aspect would be great. Plants started dying. I figured it was me. Just dug one out and found clumps of mushrooms in the soil! Indoors? Now, our favorite tree is dying. I happened to look on here at reviews and am almost certain it is this soil. Same complaints as others. I am buying a totally different potting soil today and repotting about 8 plants. Money wasted on soil and plants! I’ve lost 2 favorites now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water pools on top of soil I brought this product because I needed some potting soil. Big mistake! When I water my indoor plants the water pools on top of the soil and takes forever for the water to absorb. Now I notice my plants are dying! Not happy about this as I've some some of this plants for years. I'll never buy this product again and will throw away the full bag I have.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My Experience w' Miracle-Gro Moisture Control I have used Miracle-Gro products for many years and usually I buy the potting mix in the yellow bag. This year I bought 2 large bags and 2 small bags of this Miracle-Gro Moisture Control potting mix (blue bag). Something in this mix is harming/killing my plants. I have had 2 die already (in just over a month) and I have several with small mushrooms growing up from the potting mix and my plants in general just don't look healthy. I am extremely disappointed and upset because I have now wasted money and time on my plants this year. After reading many of the previous reviews I now know that my experience is not isolated and that this product has apparently had issues for quite some time. Very, very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fungus on top, gnats are bad I have bought multiple bags of the moisture control potting mix and the citrus potting mix and am having trouble with both. Green fungus on top of soil and gnats in the dirt. I have been using miracle grow for years and the last couple of years there have been multiple issues. Dirt turning rock hard, green or white fungus or mold on top of soil and the gnats, at least 2 different types of gnats. I'm not sure what is going on with the potting mixes but I pay good money for this stuff and as I said earlier I've used it for years. At first I thought it was just a bad bag but after purchasing multiple bags and to have these problems with over half of the bags I'm getting frustrated. I've purchased at least 15 bags this year including the citrus mix (at least 4 bags) and 1 bag of orchid mix which right after I planted my orchids in the mix 1 got mealy bugs on it. My husband bought me a Meyer lemon tree and since I planted it in the citrus potting mix I've been fighting gnats that stay in the soil. I'm afraid that I'm going to loose my lemon and the lime tree that I've had for a year because of the gnats. The leaves are falling off of them now and it's my understanding that the gnat larvae will eat the roots and kill the tree. I've tried multiple different things to get rid of these gnats, including insecticidal soap, neem oil, a peroxide and water mix, to no avail. I'm going to repot these trees in different soil and see if I can save them, hopefully. Needless to say but I am truly disappointed with the different miracle grow potting mixes that I've wasted my money on this year.
