Be cautious
I purchased this because I had other DEWALT products and already had batteries. It has now stopped working. I got on YouTube to see if other people had the same issue. It was nice while it lasted but won’t purchase any more.

Great, then not so great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This battery powered chainsaw was great until it died during mid-cut. Besides the leak when sitting i had no other issues with this chainsaw. Got about 2 years out of it. Bought extra batteries for it also. Really bummed. Seems like a known issue per the interweb.

died, but effectively replaced
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw did a fine job for about 30 solid hours of use. I don't know why they can't prevent the oil leakage that so many have noted, but I drain the tank each use and deal with the leakage of what remains - no big deal. However, it suddenly quit and refused to recognize a sound battery. Fortunately, it was covered by warranty and DeWalt did a great job of sending out a new, replacement unit. Here's hoping for a better result for round 2.

Super handy, especially as second saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this as a second, smaller chainsaw for limbing up and thinning small (less than 4 inch diameter) lodgepoles for fire mitigation. This is perfect for that, and all you need to carry is bar oil and maybe a spare battery. And it's quiet. Did 45 minutes of actual cutting using the Flexvolt battery from my circular saw, and it still had juice to spare and didn't show signs of slowing down. Used it for a few 10 inch logs and it did fine. Reviews said it might leak bar oil, so I sealed the molding seams on the tank with gasket sealer (look online) and zero leakage. But it does slobber oil off the end of the bar when you're cutting, so don't use it on your nice clean concrete driveway.
I think it's a no brainer if you already have other Dewalt cordless stuff. Other brands were either too big or way more expensive. This will do everything the weekend or heavy hobby user will ask of it, without the noise, stink, and carbon footprint of a gas saw.

OIL LEAK CONSTANTLY
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this Chainsaw 12/24/2021 it leaks Bar Oil constantly while using it and by sitting not using it for periods of time, I contacted De-Walt and reported this they told me they were aware of this issue and for me to give it some time to seal due to it being NEW. Well 1 year and 10 months and it has only gotten worse. The saw's cutting operation is good as its performance cuts like a beaver on steroids, I recently called preparing for the possibility of a Hurricane and reiterated my concern to see if this much reported issue had been resolved. They suggested that I wait until after Hurricane Season which ends November 30 and contact them then. I cannot wait any longer. The 90 Day Replacement and The 1 Year Free Service has passed and now the 3 Year Warranty is clicking away. I should have returned it within the 90 Day Replacement, but you said you were working to resolve this issue and I called you again and was told you would contact me and to wait. I cannot wait any longer.

Nice product, but leaks kill it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well, but leaks oil when sitting. Makes a terrible mess, ruining the overall ownership experience.
