Rated 5 out of 5 by from New saw. My first worm drive saw. So far I like the weight and balance. The few cuts I have made so far have been fine. I seem to be able to cut fairly straight with it Only time will tell about durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roll Over risk. Love the classic simplicity and functionality. Wish it could be set down on a surface and not roll over on itself. The narrow foot plate makes cuts easier. Rugged and precise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s a great saw. I had my last worm drive skill saw for 37 years. I’m a builder so I use it almost every day. I couldn’t count how many structures I have built using it. It’s a great saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EVERYONE Needs One! Now this is a saw that everyone needs. Regardless of what you do, you need one! By far the roughest and toughest saw on the market, magnesium built provides a light weight and easy to handle. Plenty of power to keep you moving through anything you put in front of it. I have 5 of these saws, the only issue i've ever had with them.. 1 of them had a rip guide on it, and where the guide slides in, the piece of the table broke off of it. Could have just been a freak accident, but that's 1 issue in ages of owning 5 of these. Worm driven will always rank #1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skilsaw wormdrive for the win! For a while Iv had a second hand skilsaw 77 50th anniversary edition gold. It’s 30+ years old and still runs like new. But the weight is crazy. So I decided it was time for a upgrade and got the spt77wml-22 and holy what a difference. The saw is so light and had so much more power! The rafter hook is a great feature also. As soon as I took it out of the box I checked for oil and to see how true it was set up (hearing that some people got them and they weren’t setup) but everything was ready to go! Put the blade on and went right to work! Now the old saw will be for around home and the new one goes everywhere with me. Great saw and can tell I’ll have it for years! Now to decide on my next skilsaw purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Feel This is the first worm drive saw I've owned, or even used, which is surprising. But I like the feel and security in the hands. It doesn't twist when you pull the trigger. Not that direct drive saw twisting is a significant issue, but it is a little less fatiguing. It doesn't "sit on the nose" when you lower it off a platform to the ground like my other saws. So in the long run there could be more wear on other parts of the saw body. The depth adjustment lever is on the outside and I frequently, due to muscle memory, grab it with my thumb when I am attempting to hold the guard open for cuts. I have other saws that the lever is inboard of the saw which I find better because it can't be bumped. And the platen "feels" narrow, but I don't know that is actually is. I haven't been able to compare it because my other saws are in storage. All in all, this saw has a good feel in the hands and looks to perform well for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight powerhouse OK, I've been using 77's for something like 40 years and this is my first magnesium one. Wow, what a difference a couple of pounds make! It looks like Skilsaw is setting itself up as number one again in pro tools.
