Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cool product, but didn’t work for long! We bought this today for safety with our dog on a night hike and while the flashing function did work, the disco effect did not (the main reason why we bought the product) We looked into it upon getting home and watched the “first time” video from the company on YouTube and tried to retrace our steps. There wasn’t a “battery tab” on our product– but it was still attached to the packaging as if it had never been used before when we got it, however, the disco function would only go for about 20 seconds before shutting off. We went a whole 3 mile hike with the flash on so I don’t think it would be the battery? Either way, after opening the cap, the light now doesn’t work at all. It would be nice to figure out what the issue may be... this is such a cool product, we already have an orange one on the way and would like to buy more but not if getting the product to work will be such an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for night hikes! I have spot lits on every harness and collar, they are durable, bright, and the battery life is decent (plus the batteries are easy to change)! We use these for night walks around town, to backpacking multi-day trips and they have never let me down! Plus, I love all of the colors! As a member of the Nite Ize Field Team, I received this product in exchange for my honest feedback and review of its performance. All opinions and words are my own.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No battery life I bought 3 of these at a local pet store , there were no replacement batteries in the package and the batteries quit after about two weeks of 15 minute walks but they are an excellent product when working

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice features but limited battery life I loved having it on the dog for nighttime walks daily but 20 hours is not long, especially if you forget to turn it off once or twice or take 1 hour walks as we do. I plan to try the rechargeable version to prevent regular battery changes. Lithium batteries are dangerous to keep around because of risk to pets and small kids, and need to be carefully recycled, not to mention the social costs of mining lithium. I would recommend a rechargeable version which now you make!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed with durability of Nite Ize Products I have been meaning to write to your company for a while. I have purchased many Nite Ize products over the past couple of years. I like them because they help make my dogs visible when we are outside at night. However, I am disappointed that these collar lights do not last very long before they malfunction. Long before the batteries wear out the light will no longer stay turned on when you squeeze it. One problem I have had repeatedly is that after only a nominal number of weeks of use the light will light up only while I am squeezing it (showing that the batteries are still good) but as soon as I let go the light goes off and stays off. Another example of a problem with your lights is after a relatively short period of my dogs wearing the collar lights, probably 6-8 weeks, I will squeeze the light to turn it on, and it will be on for less than a minute, then it goes out by itself even though nothing has touched it. This is whether I made it blink or not blink when I turned it on. I have taken the lights that have done this and changed the batteries to see if it makes a difference, but it doesn't. The light will still go out in less than a minute, even with the new batteries. I wonder if you can tell me why the durability of your lights are so limited, and I would also like to know if you would replace some of these lights at no cost to me since I have purchased so many. As I said at the beginning I like the visibility the lights provide for my dogs, but I may have to look for a different product from another company because it is getting expensive to continuously replace your light products. Please let me know if you will replace the faulty lights that I have from Nite Ize. I have attached a photo of 7 of your lights that no longer function like they did when I purchased them. I have more that have malfunctioned since I took that picture, too. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacing the batteries Pop - NO! Slide - YES! Love my Nite Ize for my dog Cosmo. But replacing the battery had me totally flummoxed and the answer I found here didn't compute either. Here's the thing: You don't "simply POP OUT THE BATTERY" as suggested here, you SLIDE out the two batteries from the side. That is after you have pried the rubber outside off. Best tool: tiny flat screwdriver. If you've got one for your glasses, you're golden.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't stay lit I have two of these. One for our Black Lab and the other for our Bernese Mountain Dog. After about two months of excellent use, neither one stays lit. And yes, I did replace the batteries. When either dog shakes, the light goes out.
