Best light - trouble inserting batteries
Very bright light, secure straps, stays solid even if dropped. Best headlamp I have had to date. I had trouble opening the battery compartment the first time. With any other lights I had, both sides are squeezed to open. This style compartment uses one clip on the right side, and the back has to be completely exposed before the back can be removed. Otherwise, I highly recommend.

Works So Good I bought a 2nd One But.....
I bought my first headlamp over a year ago and it works great I like the 2 brightness options as well as its durability and it has been trouble free and ready when I need it. So....
I Liked it so much that I bought a second one at Christmas for use at the lake/boat and R/V well...
Here is where I have to say someone did not test this batch/run at the factory because it kills the batteries like a dead short when it is off (my best guess) because the batteries (5 days later) when I took them out had .38v after they rested.
I thought I just left it on the first time but the second time it was dead I knew something was not right, 6 brand new batteries just wasted. I now take the batteries out when I am not using it, not really ready when I need it.
I am going to try and send it in to get replaced, I hope they will replace it and some batteries. Otherwise I may just find a different brand to try and replace it with.
I do use Rayovac batteries and they last as long as any others and cost less, best money per volt IMO.

Update the Video
I wish you would update the Youtube Video on putting up the strap because it appears you changed the straps on this model so seeing the video may confuse someone.

Great Light!
I cannot agree with any of the complaints I've read here. I love my light without reservation. I want all my friends to have one.
I've been using it for so long I can't remember installing the headstrap, but I think it came assembled. If it isn't obvious, be assured there are a limited number of ways it could reasonably work. Trial and error would fix you up if you're still, uh, in the dark. Don't let this complaint put you off.
Another complaint I read was difficulty changing the battery, and drained battery is actually what brought me to this site. I didn't remember if I had read it was the battery that would run out or the actual light source. I looked at the light, saw the easily recognizable squeeze points, and squeezed them. OK, they didn't squeeze. So I gently pried one up and BAM, there were my three expired Triple As. Moving the moveable part out of the way was a no-brainer (sorry dude who had trouble with this). Don't let the battery complaints stop you either.
This little light is one of my best friends. It helps me take the dogs out at night. It reassures me when I take out the trash in the dark. It lights every nook and cranny where I lose little things. It helped me repair my washing machine. It brightens up tiny detailed things I work on. It's my go-to if the power goes out. I used to try to use the battery saving setting but I'm a self-indulgent, wasteful American, and I liked the strong light. Nothing wrong with the weaker light, but the strong one goes further and I like to use it outside at night.
Did I mention this head lamp is lightweight but secure and I can get it on/off with one hand? With practice, you might, too, especially if you have a ponytail or bun. It's comfortable and it doesn't mess my hair or interfere with my glasses. The power/light selection button is easy to press with my right hand. The angle is easily adjusted and stays where you put it till you move it again. It is possible to crank it all the way down so you illuminate your own forehead, so just be aware before you try that. The other extreme shines light almost as high up as I can roll my eyes without moving my head. Of course if I do move my head, light moves to, so I'm really never looking anywhere the light won't shine.
Did I sell you one of these lights yet? Don't be shy - you'll love it too. If you do manage to have trouble setting up the headstrap or changing the battery, bring it by, or just ask one of those frighteningly competent little kids.

batteries difficult but product good
Could not figure out how to get the batteries in. Had to go to store for someone to help. There are no directions. For battery compartment, you have to raise the back hinge bracket ALL the up so the back is completely accessible. Then on side where says to open, pull up. Good to go then. There is video on how to affix the straps on internet. 4 star because of need to get assistance with batteries.
