Pandemic Saviour
I live in NE where ice and snow is common in the winter. Having taken up hiking during the pandemic I needed something with good traction to continue the exercise. Since buying these, I have confidence in walking on ice whether it's walking the dog or taking a hike.

Winter walking with confidence
Super easy to put on. Great traction. An essential for getting around on foot in MN in February.

Don't understand negative reviews
I bought these 3 years ago for my wife and myself. We hike 2-5 miles almost every day year round. They work great whether you're on snow, slush or ice. The trails typically have some hills and may have exposed roots. We always feel confident that we have adequate traction but use common sense when on smooth ice (tred carefully). We avoid using them on dry concrete and asphalt. Additionally we always rinse them off with water when we get home to remove any salt or other contaminants and then dry them with an old towel. After three years, they still look practically new.

Great traction, short lifespan
Great on ice and hard packed snow but, I can blow through a 2-3 pairs each winter. The cable system always fails. They do last longer if you don't wear them on concrete/pavement so I use mine exclusively for hiking and I bring an extra pair with me. A bit expensive for how long they last but, until I find something better, these perform like I need them to.

Rear Cable Broke after 4 uses.
I bought the Diamond Grip Yaktrax because they were advertised as good on transitional surfaces. I live on a snow / ice covered gravel road that rarely has any bare spots but it's possible to hit gravel periodically. I'm careful to normally walk in the snow / ice covered part of the road because I recognize it promotes the longevity of the Diamond Grips.
I bought my Diamond Grips from an outfitter up the road and they didn't last three weeks before the rear connecting cable broke. I was extremely pleased with the performance of the grips on the icy roads but I'm frustrated by the lack of durability.

Functionality *****/Durability **
These have been by far the most functional winter non-slip attachment I’ve found. Takes a special situation to slip in these, ie dusting of snow on sheet of ice. In terms of durability, I was hoping to get at least a couple of years out of a pair. Lasted only about a year till the cable frayed and snapped. I will buy another pair because nothing out there competes in terms of functionality.

These a reel 'keepers'.
I found these work great for the working person. Climbing in and out of heavy equipment and operating it is easy with these. The grip on these is great in ice and snow and so much better than the ones with springs. They are not at all slippery on concrete or hard rocks like other models can be. The rubber section lays well on several of my boot sizes and is secure. I have had no 'shifting' problems and can wear them all day without thought. I like the aggressive traction design. You can't wear them on tile, wood, or carpet without damage though. so beware of that. I do wear them on glazed ice and they grip great. I would recommend these to anyone and buy them again myself, but for the cost, I do hope they last.

Great gift!
I have encouraged friends to purchase this because of all the black ice we have in Wa St. I purchased 4 pair for my 2 adult children and there spouses this year for Christmas and then thought I should buy a set for me and I did

YakTrax Diamond Grip
These are great for tromping around in the woods in deep snow. I'm able to keep my grip even on hillsides. I added a lanyard to each as I lost one earlier in the winter.

Solid product, I’d buy them again 100/100
Solid product. I’m a dog walker and these things saved me. I had the OG trax and they lasted a few years, but these diamond trax are seriously boss against the ice sheet that smothered Chicago this week. I’m recommending them to all my people.

Good idea, not so good quality
Sadly, these things rust like a sunk ship, and the "diamond" points dulled almost as fast as they rusted. 2nd winter wearing them and they slide on glare ice almost as bad as the spring ones.
If you're going to go on glare ice, I'd suggest real cleats. Otherwise, these things did work great in snowy, soft terrain.

How to Ruin a great product
It seems that Yaktrax bought the rights from the original Icetrekkers and ruined a great product. The originals were made completely of chains, were super durable and offered great traction on anything but the slipperiest ice slopes. Yaktrax replace the chains with weak cables covered by little round spinners. The traction is hardly any better, the feel underfoot is bulkier, and the durability is way worse. Way to go Yaktrax :-(

Need improvements
I bought these less then a year ago and a cable broke yesterday already. I paid the extra money for these ones as they looked like a quality build. Traction was amazing I loved them until I slipped on the ice because of a broken cable

Great performance but bad durability
We have several pairs. They work great but the coated cable holding the grips comes in undone. Both front and back. We coble working pairs from those we have. It's just Maine winters. Too bad. Warranty should be longer. Or offer grips for self repair?

Worth the price ??
The answer is YES. Wore them first time on a snow-over- frozen-slush and ice hilly driveway, manipulating a snowblower. Not a hint of loss of traction (can't say the same for the snowblower). The Large was a very tight fit over my size 10 boots (ended up soaking the device in very warm water to soften the rubber) but they stayed in place over the 2 mile clearing operation.

Diamond Grip
I live in New England and walk my dog in all kinds of weather. I’ve tried other ice grippers and find these give me the most traction. They also don’t pop off my boots when I’m walking.

Rubber breaks down way too soon
Have the Diamonds. Very comfortable to walk in. 1st pair rubber failed in less than a year. Pretty sad warranty period of only 90 days. Bought a 2nd pair but may be my last if they too fail.

Works well.
This is my 2nd pair of these and I really like them but the reason this is my 2nd pair is because the rubber on one of the other pair broke. It got caught on some debris on the ground and broke the rubber frame. I've not checked with Yaktrax but I wonder if that's covered under warranty?

Super Traction - Weak Point is the Rear Cable
I have never slipped with these over my Bogs. Uphill, Downhill, Sidehill, Ice, Snow they really grip. Able to walk in grocery stores wearing them. For me they last 2 snow seasons and then the wire cable on the rear diamonds breaks. The other side usually breaks within a day or two of the first. Everything else is in great shape. Please fix this design flaw.
