Poor Coverage Poor Finish
It took 3 times as much to cover and coat as the Non-Water based. It also clouded the light finish that I had on my project. Had to sand it down and start over with another brand since the original is not available any more in local stores..

Drys fast and protects well
I buy about a dozen quarts a year to use on the display shelves offered in my ETSY shop. I love how fast it drys and how well it protects. Overall this is a great product.

Good stuff
Used on doors entering a restaurant. I sort of abused the stain and urethane as far as drytime goes. Work needed to be done quickly and the doors put back into service in just half a day. Stained the wood and let it dry for about an hour before applying my first coat of urethane. Allowed it to get tacky before recoating. Definitely did not follow the dry times however the doors turned out great and were dry enough to not get damaged before fully curing. After full cure the doors look brand new and beautiful. Went for a glossy finish and i was happy with how they turned out. Definitely the best finish ive used so far.

A FAILED PRODUCT FOR ME
Folks I spent a lot of money coating and recoating sanded new Teak wood on my porch verandas, doors and windows this product did not last a snowball in the sum (less than a year). All EXTERNAL areas exposed to the sun, rain and wind there is no real indication that any of this product was used at all. All the surfaces are back to the sanded surface feel and look. It really hurt my investment. INTERNAL is fine.

Terrible. Sprayer quit working
We spent a good amount of time preparing the item to spray it. After spraying just the first two passes, the nozzle stuck on. Worked thru that as I went but on the second coat, after clearing the nozzle on the first coat, it started spitting and then won't spray at all. Kind of ruined the whole project and I'll be starting over now.

Very useful!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got Minwax Water Based Helmsman Spar Urethane to try for my outdoor seating area. It is a bench pit made of wood. The Minwax will help protect it from things like the all the rain we get. The Minwax comes in a can, and you can apply with a brush or a cloth towel. It is kind of oily and not too thick. It does not really have the most pleasant odor, but it helps protect the wood.
