Rated 2 out of 5 by from too heavy for size of motor Bought this saw a month ago and now its starting to cause problems. The chain keeps popping off the bar and the saw won't stay going unless its half choked even thought the air filter is clean and the spark plug has been regapped. Kinda disappointed thought this saw was going to be good but it turned out to be anything but. Will never purchase another poulan chainsaw again. My stiihl works perfect and had it for over 10 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw The PR5020 has plenty of power and runs awesome right out of the box. I have 2 suggestions for Poulan though. 1 - the starting directions on the saw say to push the primer 10 times. Don't do it or you will flood the engine. I have read a lot of reviews on multiple sites where people complain about how hard this saw is to start. I believe it is because they over prime it. I push the primer 2 times and the saw starts in two pulls. The second thing is there is no seal on the air filter to carb intake. I put a light bead of silicone in the groove in the air filter and let it dry overnight, then put the filter on. The silicone stays flexible and seals the filter perfectly. My Poulan Wild Thing that I purchased in 2000 still runs great and I have no doubt the PR5020 will last just as long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chainsaw I've ever owned.....best ever. After 25 years, my Poulan chainsaw died. The safety mechanism and clutch overheated and it was just too expensive to repair. Replacement parts cost as much as a new saw. I'm happy to say, my new Poulan 2050 is a BEAST! I spent a day felling and bucking hardwood trees and it out-performed my expectations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from poulan 2050cc Used for cutting firewood and after the first start with a half dozen more pulls or more to get fuel into the carberator for first time let it warm up and cut some small firewood to break it in with a few tanks worked great. Once you cold start it had no trouble with one to two pulls on pullcord to get it running again when warmed up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Junk I bought this saw less than a week ago. First problems were the clutch cover nuts kept vibrating off. I put lock washers on and seems to have controlled that issue. Second day of use, pull cord ripped in half. It did not simply pull out, it pulled apart like it was rotten. I tried to reattach it, but the recoil mechanism seems broken. Additionally, it leaks bar oil just sitting in the case. So now i have to return it tomorrow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Kinda disappointed Hasnt run right since i bought it. I have had at least 6 chainsaws in my life, so i am pretty well versed on how to use a chainsaw. Called the store i bought it from and was told that they werent responsible and to take it to a small tool shop. I took it there and they said they had so many poulans brought in that they didnt think it was worth it to try to fix it. I tried to adjust the carb myself, and it runs for awhile ( week or 2) and then needs adjusted again. It pours out oil from the auto oiler. When it does run its great, but very frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good I've only had this saw for a month but have put about 10 hours of use over a three day period. It starts, runs and cuts as expected. No problems whatsoever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work horse. Just picked up this chainsaw to cut up some very large oak trees that I needed out of my new lot. I had quite a few large diameter oaks that I needed cut into splitting size and this saw was flawless in cutting these up. Like a hot knive through butter. I don't understand why one would have a problem when you use non-oxy fuel with quality oil. Also, new chains do need to tighten up and being observant with elimate having the chain jump off the bar. All in all, a great saw at a bargain price.
