Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Worst Piece of Equipment I Have Ever Owned I have the 5020AV version of this chainsaw, have had it for 3 years. Have used it only 6-7 times, for a total of about twenty minutes. The saw will flat out refuse to stay cranked. It does not matter what adjustments you make, how lean or rich you run the gas, it JUST. WILL. NOT. RUN! It takes 10 minutes to crank it. Then it has to warm up for 10 minutes. If you try to give it gas during that time it will go dead. Then, if you do get it cranked and running, you better move your butt to get done what it is you have to do, because in another five minutes, the saw will die. And I do mean DEAD. Pack up and go home because it will not start again for another couple of days. I wont be suckered into buying another Poulan again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems torquey, HANDFULL! It's a HEAVY SAW. I got this to replace a 16" Mac that I've had for years. It's a Husqvarnava inside! GOT TO BREAK IT IN! If you pull too hard, the rope will jump the pulley. As with ANY power equipment, you MUST understand how it works to make it work for you. Almost have a tank of fuel through it for break-in, had to re-wrap pull cord(no big deal). The tool is probably great for the bar/chain adjustment, not so much for removing cover screws. Oiler works great, advise using thinner oil for the bar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless Two uses, leaked oil as fast as it went in. Once started, won’t stay running. After a couple of uses, doesn’t look like this BRAND NEW saw will ever start again. The PR5020 I bought, is junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done Has plenty of power, starts easily, is a little heavy but it is a 50cc so have to expect that, I am very pleased with it. Very well built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw for the price!! I can't believe the ratings are so low for this saw. I have had mine for about 5 years now and the only problems I have had from it have been my own fault. Letting this saw sit for a long time with gas in it will cause issues with the fuel system. However, you will have the same problem with any small gas powered equipment. Drain the fuel if you are not planing to use it for a while, use synthetic 2 cycle oil with ethanol free gas (or use pre-mix) and perform regular maintenance. You take care of it, it will take care of you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away from the PR5020. I bought this chainsaw a month ago and have been unable to start it. I have used other saws many times and this is the only saw I couldn't start. Because 12 days had lapsed, the store would not take it back. I was refered to a shop and he got it to fire and said there is nothing wrong. He held it by the trigger and pulled with his left hand. I can not do that nor do I feel comfortable doing that. Compared to other saws, the cord pull is much lighter. Like there is no compression. I am stuck with a useless saw. I bought another brand saw and it starts fine. Very upset and disapointed. Obviously, I had to give it one star because it wouldnt let me give zero.
