Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alluring I tilled Miracle-Gro Garden Soil into the native soil of my vegetable garden in spring and expected a bumper crop of vegetables. But my vegetables are no different in size, appearance or flavor. I am disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good wet soil. Every time I buy the soil I get a bag of mud. Why does it have to be packaged wet? Water is too heavy. Many, many gardeners are seniors! Please be considerate and make sure it is dry before sale. Thanks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Full of fungus I used half a bag in my garden and left the rest in the wheelbarrow. When I came back to use the rest, it had some yellow and white fungus all over it. I'm afraid to use the rest of it for fear it'll harm my plants.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Serious weed contamination of the soil We had an experience similar to that described by a recent post from a person in Omaha. In late winter and early spring we roto-tilled our garden beds and mixed in more than dozen or so bags of the soil (purchased from our local Lowe's). We have used this soil in the past and have not had a problem, so we were not expecting what came next: massive weed infestation. Here's the current status. 1. For the tomatoes and peppers, it's not a big problem since we can easily recognize the weeds and get rid of them as they come up. 2. However, we also have a bed of "salad blend" lettuce (mesclun) from which we harvest some every evening for dinner; in this case the newly emerged weeds are the same size and mixed in with the salad greens so we have to be careful and pick the weed leaves out when we wash the leaves before eating (and hope that they are not toxic in case we miss one or two). 3. And we have a bed seeded with assorted wildflowers right outside the kitchen window that, in past years, has attracted lots of butterflies and hummingbirds that are nice to watch. It was a debacle this year. Unfortunately, the flower bed was the first bed we planted, well before we recognized the problem, and when the weeds came up we did not at first realize that they were not the wildflowers. By the time it dawned on us what was happening the weeds were so numerous and big that they pretty much had choked out the wildflowers. No butterflies or hummingbirds this year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garden Soil I would never use this product again. I put it in my garden and it turned into a big weed bed. I saw another comment about this before I used it but used it any way. I've never seen so many weeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Garden Soil for Veggies and Herbs ever! The Miracle-Gro Garden Soil for Vegetables and Herbs is the best garden soil ever! The texture and moistness of the soil surpassed any I've ever used before. My tomato plants are looking so healthy and strong. This is quite a feat considering we live in the ever-changing weather conditions of Chicago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nutrients incomplete or missing NPK listed but nothing of the dozen-plus micronutrients. If they are not there, then it should be suggested to buy "___" fir complete nutrician.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible Terrible Soil I bought 8 bags of the vegetable and herb soil. I have always used miracle grow products. I am so highly disappointed in this particular product. Never have I had so many tiny clover type weeds coming up in the garden, that I am constantly raking out. It actually looks like ground cover. So very disgusted. Will not purchase again!
