Rated 1 out of 5 by from Metal shavings get added to the meat I bought this attachment a few years ago and finally used it to grind pork shoulder to make dumplings. Unfortunately, the meat kept getting clogged in the grinder resulting in quadruple the amount of time it should have taken to grind 3 lbs of meat. Additionally, what did manage to get ground had to then get sifted to remove the metal shavings that was added from the blades. I ended up having to throw all of the meat out as I couldn’t seem to get a batch that was metal shavings free.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I have had a Kitchen Aid Stand mixer for almost 20 years. In fact I bought a second one about 5 years ago with a bigger capacity. I LOVE them and use them all the time. Unfortunately this grinder does not live up to quality of Kitchen Aid appliances. I ONLY use my grinder once a year, after Thanksgiving, to grind the left over turkey and make croquettas. Thats it, ONCE A YEAR. So I have had it now for about 7 years, and have used it EXACTLY 7 times. Last year I noticed a small crack on the side plastic. This year it is now cracked on three sides. I am a bit disappointed because I think that, although I do not expect it to last as long as my mixers, 7 uses it certainly not up to par with the Kitchen Aid name.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from D grinderisappointing The grinder cracked and leaked the first time that I used it. Really disappointing. Never expected KitchenAid to have an attachment so poorly deigned and/or made.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ours cracked too Our mixer has served us well for many years but the rarely used grinder is obviously inferior. Like many of the reviewers stated the unit simply cracked. While it is still usable it's probably just a matter of time before it gives up. NOT money well spent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from METAL SHAVINGS Wow!!!! I was floored to see that this product produces metal shavings that get into your food during use. I also googled if I was doing something wrong but it looks like this has been an issue for YEARS. I just can't believe this hasn't been recalled. How can using this product be safe for me Kitchenaid if I will be eating metal shaving after using it? Why haven't you recalled this model? I am very concerned for my health. Whan can I do with this now?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cracked housing Bought this item probably 15 years ago, used it a few times, put away and forgot about it. Now have reason to use it quite a bit; removed from the cupboard to discover the housing is cracked at the motor-shaft end, as others have mentioned. This is probably an item that should be constructed of cast metal, not plastic, aluminum or similar sturdy material. Thought it was just me, somewhat comforting to know others' attachments are also just as c-rappy.
