Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice results This product needs to be applied very sparingly. If your applicator is sliding easily on the floor you are applying too much. You need to feel some resistance as you apply. Also the information on this site NOT the same as on the product that I purchased. The product on the store shelves clearly states , recoat after 8 hours, not 4 hours as on this site, I’m glad that I read the directions on the can because they are in complete contradiction to the information stated here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It looks great Pine wood floors, 35 yrs. old, 1x12 boards. Sanded and sanded with drum sander and then edger. Bought (2) 2.5 gallon cans for the dining room and kitchen. It was very humid for 30 hours after applying the first coat with a quality roller! 12 plus hours later, applied the second coat, and 5 hours later applied the 3rd coat ( rain moved out, temperature dropped, humidity dropped, furnace kidded on and fired up the basement wood burner), 4 hours later, dry to touch and we’re walking on it this morning. It looks great. Now we wait for it to harden.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect floor results! I have a cabin in northern Minnesota with 60+ year old pine tongue in groove floors. After a very labor intensive floor sanding procedure to remove the old varnish, I applied the super fast drying polyeurethane (semi gloss) as per instuctions...to the letter. I applied 3 coats since I was down to bare wood. Prior to varnishing, I cleaned the floors with mineral spirits which removed a lot of sanding residue that vacuuming and sweeping did not. It also exposed a lot more of the wood grain. I applied 3 coats using a natural soft brush for the edges & corners, followed by a 10 inch lamb skin for the main floor areas. Drying time was a bit longer as the cabin temp was around 60 degrees. I waited 7 hours between coats. I additionaly spent more time than instucted mixing with a paint stick prior to starting and between each coat to be safe. The finish went on easily and the results are amazing!! There is an amber hue due to being oil based which is ecactly what I was looking for to blend withe the pine t&g walls. Cant understand why there would be any negative reviews, perhaps operator error? Highly satisfied with product & results!! The last photo is the before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reasonably happy but wished I had used a brush We just got done using this product to protect a newly-stained floor. I'm pretty happy at how things came out, with some minor exceptions. The instructions said to use an applicator, so I did. The finish end up a bit rough, and there is some puddling near some of the wall edges. In hindsight, I wish I had brushed on the poly. I think I could have spread it more thinly and evenly on my hands and knees with a brush. It was just one room, and it would have been no trouble to brush on the poly. All good though, and I'm being harder on myself than I need to be. The result is way better than what we began with, and the baseboard and shoe molding will cover most of the puddle spots, which are quite small. I'll be doing the rest of the house. We'll be using this same polyurethane for that work. I'll just be sure to brush it on for whatever room we do next.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will never use never use again I had used a water base product by another manufacturer this summer up a camp we have on a new floor, and it worked great. When doing my family room this fall, I thought that MinWax was known as a great name in wood finishes and would be better for this application. The problem is the length of time to dry, it took WAY longer than it said. I have a wood stove and fans in the room we were doing so heat and air movement were not a problem. This stuff took way too long to dry between coats AND has not hardened in the time it was supposed to. Several days after it is still "soft" and marks and or peals very easily. Would never have used if I had read the reviews before.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage! Really disappointed with the results, I got different results in different rooms using same products from 2 different cans... Will never buy this again, never....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amended Review Okay, I admit, I jumped on and gave a negative review too early. I was frustrated with the product not drying in the time advertised (and my back hurt after several long days of work). I waited an additional couple of days then put on my second coat. The additional time to wait and then needing to sand between coats added time and work but….the floors look great. So I would caution that way more than 6 hours between coats was needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two different finishes on one floor I purchased 2 5 gallon cans of Satin Polyurethane for my living room floor. More than I needed, but I didn't want to have to go out and get another can. The first three coats were gorgeous satin finish. Since I had enough liquid left I decided to do a fourth coat. Yes I stirred it as I had done previously, but the results on the fourth coat is one of great disappointment. I have tow different finishes on my floor now. One high gloss and one flat. No I didn't take a break between coats, yes the can was stirred. The floor looked perfect when I was done. A day later it was divided. Now I get to re-sand and start again.
