Love this router
This is my favorite router. I presently own three and work them to death. It is well balanced, easy to handle, easy to change bits and and most important it is precise. It is easily adaptable to some of the very strange jigs I have made and always performs.

22 year review
I bought this router 22 years ago, seriously. I have it and happen upon this webpage while researching for a trim base for this router.
This router is still going strong after 22 years of onsite cabinetmaker and installer. I've had the fixed base mounted in a small onsite router table and quickly (tool free) switch it to plunge base for all other non-table functions.
Plenty of power and built like a beast.
This is the only review you need. Work smart. Work safe. Make dust.

Sorry I bought it.
I have the same problem many others have had. Can't tighten the collet enough for the bit to stay secure. Bit came flying out in the middle of a job.

Great for all my needs!
My husband gifted this router to me for my birthday in November, and I have used it a lot. I love the sturdy feel and the precision of my cuts.

Great router
I recently purchased this router after seeing what was needed for my router table insert. I read a couple of reports of problems with the collets. I can see that if care is not taken you can cross thread the collet which would make the router unusable. I took care of screwing down the collets and found that I had no problem with the router bits staying in place. My router serial number is in the 830xx range.

Received at Christmas as a gift from daughter
This is my first router and loved using it up until last night. I, was using it, and it got extremely hot while using it on my project. It just quit working all together unfortunately. I thought I would give it until morning, and it still will not work. I am in a dilemma because I received this as a gift for Christmas from our daughter, and I threw away the packaging as well as have no receipt. Is there something that I can do to fix this this on my end?

Third review with the same collet problem
Straight out of the box.
Screwed on the 1/2 in collet and it will not tighten enough for the bit to be held. I can slide the bit in and out of the collet. I used both wrenches and tightened it as much as humanly possible and NOPE, collet will not tighten around the bit.
Tried the 1/4 in collet - Exact same issue.
Waited 10 days for this to arrive and now what do I do??
Also, the depth adjustment ring is VERY difficult to turn.

Fragile Threading - Broke Immediately.
I wished I would’ve read the previous review below. I HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
The bit I wanted to use would not stay in the collet. Attempted to tighten and the threads stripped.
Cannot say anything about the tool as I used it for about 2 seconds.
