Rated 4 out of 5 by from Qualiity control (Assembly) This snowblower looks nice and seems to run well but when I first opened the box, there was more assembly needed than was indicated in the instructions. The wheel caps and wheels were off and laying in the bottom of the box as were the knobs used to assemble the handle. Just thought you should know..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful hand This snow blower will come in very handy when the winter turns horrid in helping me clear my driveway. I'm 71 years young with heart bypasses and all help will be appreciated. So far we have'nt had any snow but it is expected tonight after midnight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this product! Years ago, Toro Powercurve 1800 snow blowers were pretty great. My first one lasted a long time (more than a decade) before an electrical ground fault finally sent it to the scrap heap. My second one (a model 38025 from 2003) had an infancy failure of the intermediate pulley (which Toro wouldn't fix under the warranty) but after I bought and installed a new part, the snow blower then lasted 12 years before its motor bearings wore out. But my third unit (a model 28381 from 2015) lasted only four years before its motor bearings gave up (and that was with lubrication to help it carry on a bit longer). Now, my fourth unit, another model 38381 from 2019, lasted only almost exactly one year before shutting down in the midst of clearing my driveway and simply refusing to start. The motor is electrically open. If I were guessing, I'd guess that Toro has added a one-shot thermal overload fuse to the motor and that opened up. (The snow clearing load was no worse than any storm that the previous machines handled fine). It's clear that, over the years, Toro has cost-reduced these things to the point of not being worth the money you'll pay for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well on 8" wet snow - Had first chance to use it with about 8" of heavy wet snow. Overall was very pleased. Quiet, easy to use, did a good job of clearing snow. I have a pretty large driveway and did almost all of it before the battery ran out. Snow chute got jammed with wet snow a few times, but considering moisture content I was very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, fast and powerful I've had a Toro 1800 for around ten years, and I've used it in a variety of weather: light powder, packed powder, wet snow, etc. Even in the deepest snow, it throws it off the driveway. Frequently, I'm able to clear down to the pavement after a storm and then have a clean, ice free driveway. The challenge is to clear the driveway before any car goes over it and packs down the snow. I have no trouble managing the electric cord, I got a good quality heavy duty cord rated for cold weather use. The Toro 1800 cost less than one season of plowing and lasted more than 10 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs the job I bought it for I live in Minnesota and own a large two-stage snowblower to clear snow from my big driveway. But I needed a small, handy snowblower to clear snow from my deck and front porch. My new Toro 1800 corded snowblower sufficiently does the latter. I no longer have to manually shovel and lift the snow over the railings -- my new Toro 1800 does this just fine. It's light to move around from the back of my house to the front. And I like that it's corded, so no gas engine, and no costly electric batteries that need to be kept charged all the time. In summary, this light duty snowblower performs the job I bought it for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked great for 2 years, then ... I live in Minneapolis, where we average about 60" of snow a year. I have a small driveway (single-car, 40' long) and a 60' long section of sidewalk to clear. Even in a foot of snow his machine does the job: if it's too deep I just make a pass across the top until I am down to the pavement, then do full-height but partial-width passes after that. It struggles a bit on the heavy chunky crud left in front of my driveway by the snowplows, but does the job. Not too loud (sounds like a vacuum cleaner), and I LOVE that I just plug it in and don't have to worry about fuel, spark plug changes, tuneups, etc. associated with gas engines. Now here's the bad part: going into the third winter the motor seems to be starting to go. Every time I open it up and jiggle the wires going into the motor it works for a few minutes, then quits again. Only two years, just past the warranty?! Can't find replacement motor online - I have to buy a new machine?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great, but won't shut off! I just received a Toro 1800 snow thrower for Christmas and tested it out on our driveway this morning. We had about 4-8 inches of light snow, and the thrower cleared it quite well, although some of the deeper spots needed a couple of passes. The only major issue I have is that the power control bar does nothing--my snow thrower turned on as soon as I pressed the interlock button key, and stayed on until I unplugged it. The blade never stopped rotating, and it didn't matter whether I had the control bar pressed down or not. I see this as a major safety issue. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it, or exchange it for a different one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1800 power curve newer models getting worse, I expected more from Toro I had a model 1800 from the 90's and it lasted 20 years, until rust took it's toll. I likes it so I purchased the new model 1800 in 2014 and t I didn't care for the 'dead man switch' as it would stop the unit while I was still holding it. Also the new wheels were much smaller and more susceptible to snow packing on them so that they would not rotate-just slide along. It lasted under two years (two years of very little snow) and stopped working altogether. It was still under warranty and they shipped me a new one at no charge. This one has a new starting system involving pushing a button on the side and then holding the handle. This system is even more sensitive than the last model, and the wheels are still too small. I have had this one for under three years and after the second use of the year it will not start. It seems to be a problem in the starting switches, but would have to take it in to be sure as they don't seem to have a service manual available for customers. not worth

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST SNOWBLOWER FOR THE MONEY! I wish I could leave a picture of what this thing is capable of, exceeds expectations by ten fold! I live in MN and last year was one of the heaviest in terms of snowfall and it handled like a champ. Not too mention I live off a busy road and get quite a bit of overflow from the plows, and it gets through it all! By the end of last winter I had drift piles over 6 feet tall, I have pictures to prove it, and this snowblower took care of it all (I did walk/kick through some of it to break it up)! Beyond impressed and pleased and would recommend to everyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great snow blower on our new deck last winter We contracted a person to install a newer composite deck. I bought this snowblower with the thought in mind that it might be easier on the deck surface then a larger gas snowblower. I couldn’t be happier. I even left it on the deck fully wrapped from the elements. As I anticipated, a great product from Toro

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliably Does the Job I live in Minnesota where we get a lot of snow every winter. I've used mine for 15 years and it has worked great with no problems. Never had more snow than this machine could handle, and there have been times when the snow was quite deep. It was great not having to worry about whether or not it would start. Easy to use. No complaints at all. I will never go back to using a gasoline powered snow blower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It shoots the snow ..I love this!! I had an old Toro power shovel at least 20 years! It was a great help however after time and hard work it died in the driveway. So I ordered a new Toro on a Friday nt. Monday at noon it arrived at the back door. The weather was poor and the driveway 1/2 full of snow. I dragged the box into the kitchen, set it up and read everything. The next morning like a child with a new toy I started working with it. Love it, fun and saves the back.
