Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slow smoker Not happy with the mounting of the unit. Also, without a gasket, you will leak alot of smoke. Also, unit does not line up properly to the smoker input. Had to add a platform under the smoker for everything to sit level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good buy and very useful Bought this for my Masterbuilt Digital Electric Smoker (the John McLemore one at Lowe's). You'll need to put the smoker on a paver block or something or buy the leg kit to get it to line up properly, but otherwise, this is a must have for cold smoking. Makes a lot of smoke that lasts about not quite two hours. I smoked some cheese and very little of the heat, if any, got into the smoker. I may even use this for the smoke, and use the main unit for just heating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A "Must Have" Accessory I bought this for my newly purchased MES130P electric smoker. It is very easy to assemble and can be attached or detached from the smoker very quickly. I love the ability to load it up with chips and get a good long smoke. The unit starts to generate smoke very quickly. There is surprisingly little "leakage" of smoke from the unit. The overwhelming majority of the smoke produced goes into the smoker as advertised. While the unit is not marketed as a cold smoker, you definitely gain the ability to produce smoke without heating the primary unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Produces good smoke The units does produce smoke well. I purchased the MB260 model a little over a year ago and it was a struggle to get smoke out of the set up on the unit. After resetting the bracket over the element, it still needed a lot of attention and the minimum temp I ever set it at was 250. I understand I bought a less expensive model but I still can’t comprehend design flaws. Anyway, the smoker box does produce good smoke with little to no attention required, but set up had to be engineered again because my smoker model’s chip loader hole height isn’t conducive to the height of the smoke box hole. I would guess other, higher end models, they holes would line up fine. I placed one by strips I cut up under the smoker legs and then could adjust the legs on the smoker box to sit properly. Two by strips were too high making the legs of the smoker box thread out past their adjustment. Without the one by’s, the smoker box sits at a tilted angle and I wasn’t comfortable with that. It may have sat properly if the feet were completely out of the smoker box, but it didn’t want the unit sitting flush on the ground either. There is more of a creosote smell with the smoker box though. The pork tasted fine, but I will reengineer Masterbuilt’s design once more and add a flexible tube with adapters as I have seen other people do to cut down on the issue. I guess to sum it all up, if you want to smoke and don’t want to drop at least a grand on better smoking units and are handy enough to overcome some design issues, this Masterbuilt set up gets a good end result.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor smoke output Purchased the slow smoker since my Masterbuilt smoker stopped producing smoke. Though this would have been a cheap fix instead of buying a new smoker. Was very excited to use it the smoke a Brisket. Instead was very disappointed in the poor smoke output. The smoke was barley enough to fill the smoker, and smoke was not even visible through the glass on the smoker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition! Cold smoker works great and delivers plenty of smoke. The only thing I would recommend is a second attachment hook. My smoker is on a stand, and the cold smoker will move and I have to adjust it. the second hook would eliminate it.
