I purchased this feeder, ordering it through my local store. I was looking for a feeder that could be taken apart to clean. Never got that far Ive been using this for a week now.The top baffle is made in such a way that there is a "trench" all the way around the top of it. This "trench" traps seed and keeps it totally out of reach of the birds. they can see the seed, but can't get to it. In addition, when you are adding seed, the only way for the seed to get past the top baffle to the bottom section is through a small hole in the top baffle. That small hole clogs sometimes, so that the top section stays up top above the baffle. I'm going back to my old feeder that is hard to clean until I can find a feeder that works.

Great Feeder
This feeder has metallic perches, lid, and top. Photo has been updated to picture it accurately with the 4 ports (previous photo showed 6 ports).
Easy to wash, easy to fill. Birds love it!
Tried to correct my previous review as "Finch Fan", but could not do so. Therefore, am posting this review under a new name so potential buyers know my first review was very wrong. I wanted to set the record straight. I have used this feeder for 11 months now and it is probably the best feeder I own (and I own 20 different ones). My previous review as "Finch Fan" was posted too soon. Squirrels can't chew on the metal parts, and birds like this feeder better than any of my other ones.

Not as Pictured
This tubular feeder was described as being all metal, except for the tube. It also was pictured with 6 ports/perches.
The perches/ports do not seem to me to be metallic. The squirrels chew off plastic perches, hence my desire to get a feeder made with metal ones. That was Disappointment Number 1. The photo online showed 6 ports/perches, the feeder has only 4, that was Disappointment Number 2. Had the grandkids not convinced their granddad to hang the feeder, I would have returned it while it was still brand new and with its packaging intact. That was disappointment Number 3. The only Redeeming Factor was the excitement on the grandkids' faces when the first Goldfinch tried out the new feeder. If the squirrels leave the perches alone, then that will be Redeeming Factor #2.
