Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great We just did our back deck and it looks great! My husband was a little messy with it, how do I get it off my vinyl siding?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I applied the first coat. Perhaps a month ago, I bought this. I have a large deck so I am doing it in stages. It covers very well. I am putting it over a lighter color. It does fill the cracks if you take your time. I love the color - Redwood. I am using it to cover a Cedar colored paint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color not accurate We purchased slate gray to match our home. The sample on the lid(paint dab) was perfect but the actual color of the painted deck has a bluish color. Kind of disappointed. It takes effort to apply so is it worth it? I don’t know but we’ll see after a Pittsburgh winter!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had low expectations and was still disappointed Didn't expect it to fill in 1/4" voids as advertised. But did hope it would fill in minor imperfections, it didn't. Thought maybe the first coat would seal boards and give a good base for the 2nd coat to build up texture and fill in, it didn't. Second coat didn't hide any imperfections or add any thickness to first coat. Deck was prepared and cleaned as instructed. Coverage was less than stated, which I expected. Hopefully it will atleast hold up a year or two before it begins to peel. The color is pretty close to sample and looks good. Application was easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, So good I used this on my weathered deck boards. It definitely gave them some life back. Granted, it's only been a few days, but I'm happy so far. My dog went crazy on the deck when company came to visit, and the stain held up after only one day of drying. The color of the dark slate was a bit lighter in color than I hoped. It is more blue and less dark gray than I was hoping. Still satisfied so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not pleased Expected more I guess. Went on well, did all prep work, let dry per instructions. Found out, stains easily, won't wash-clean well, wears off easily under my porch rocking chairs. I'm disappointed. Won't use on pool deck project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Product There are few products that exceed my expectations, Cabot's Deck Correct is one of them. I am convinced any negative reviews are unfounded and likely due to improper preparation or weather. I have used several competitors products both as a contractor and personal use and none come close. Excellent product, no question; this is one product worth its cost.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Blisters I bought all the recommended prep materials and followed all the instructions. Applied two coats and after second coat blisters appeared. I tried to add a picture but it would not up load

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product albeit not practical I like the paint and used this on my deck. The quality of the paint is superior. It goes on smoothly and is super easy to mix and use. The color was accurate and we like the depth after two coats. The practicality needs to be improved though since we cannot get rid of dirt from the deck. We tried to used different type of soaps and brushed but it does not seem to clean it fully leaving a shadow of the spots. Please suggest a cleaning product to keep our newly painted deck shiny and presentable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'll keep you posted 7.9.20 My deck is 2 yrs old, needed help bad. We sanded both levels and flipped boards and replaced boards. The Deck Correct is looking awesome and hope it holds up around pool. Time will tell. 2nd coat going on this weekend and finishing up loose ends,

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Colors very different than swatches Quality of paint was okay. Color on the other hand was VERY different than the swatch. My only preference in color was to avoid one with a red tint. Unfortunately the color I picked “oak brown” which did not look red on the swatch, turned out very red.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disapointed I was looking forward to brining new life to "Party Deck" My wife had picked out the color and I had power washed the deck. I mixed the paint throughly with my drill bit attachement. I started in and it was very thick and doing a great job. When it came to drying it dryed several shades lighter than the paint sample, what i had mixed up,what was on my brush and in my pan. It is very disapointing and now the wife has to pick out a new color for the railing etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Literally A Right Off After the second year it began to ripe right off the deck! I was told it would last for 10 years not 2. I would not recommend. :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Impressed So Far After doing research on similar products I choose Deck Correct and I am very skeptical about this product. The color samples and the actual material is very different and this was very frustrating because we were trying to match our siding. It also didn't appear to be as thick as I thought it would be and this made filling counter sunk screw holes very difficult and time consuming and I am still finding pin holes. We set our patio furniture back on the deck after two days of drying time and the felt pads on the bottom of the chairs stick to the deck and leave a mark when we pick up the chair. I hope I didn't waste my to make money but right now I am not feeling very confident about this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far - exactly as expected. I decided to use the Deck Correct to give a well l-worn, previously stained wooden deck a new lease on life. We had previously used a toner & that product did not wear well -AT ALL! It was beautiful for a summer & then started peeling. We allowed it to mostly wear away over two seasons & used an outdoor rug to camouflage it a bit. We took extra care to surface prep & used wood cleaner, power washer & Sanding to give us the best possible chance for a good outcome. We liked the idea of an opaque, corrective finish since the wood is past it’s prime. The color matched the swatch exactly, once it was dry, but I have to say what you think a tiny swatch will look like when it’s on a large surface can be deceiving. We do like the color, thankfully, but the red tones really stand out in the natural light & on such a large surface. We expected it would have been darker/browner based on the swatch. That said, I recommend everyone do a small batch test in the actual environment b/c it’s a huge investment in time & money to risk disappointment. Anyhoo, we are super pleased with the outcome. Application is easy and product was very manageable & clean up was soapy water simple. Final finish is exactly as expected. Only time will tell if the product is durable & can withstand the variety of weather conditions in NJ. If this doesn’t hold up well, we’re committed to starting over with composite decking. So here’s hoping.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deck Disaster What a disaster. The stain grips dirt and you can’t clean it. It looks terrible all the time. Our deck is also too hot to walk on. I’ve literally burned my toe to the point of blisters. This is criminal. Run from this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color match off we picked a few colors online as options however the store didn't offer them. The option we went with was Syracuse which was a cream/beige with a slight green undertone. What we got was pale army green... it is awful for what we wanted.... love the color selection if they were true and everyone had the same current colors. Hesitant now to buy in quantity needed because of this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd year in and is great I used other deck paints to keep an older cracking deck in decent shape. Cabot deck correct has had zero bubbling or peeling after 3 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I applied this stain about 5 weeks ago on an aging douglas fir deck in western Oregon. Not the best decking product but I didn't want to replace the deck. The deck boards had lots of cracks and checks, but the deck was generally still solid. I pressure washed and rough sanded bad spots with a random orbital sander. This product is quite thick, so 1 gallon doesn't go as far as regular stain. I am very happy with this product. The finish is opaque, which I knew it would be. It is kind of rough due to the little beads in the stain. My 1 year old labrador has been running around on it for a month and there a a few minor scuffs, but nothing too bad. The stain really did a good job of filling in the cracks, likely prolonging the life of the deck. The directions are very clear about needing 2 coats. I was hoping to just use one but the sales person at Jerry's Home Improvement said it is really important to put the second coat in and I did. I'm glad I did. This product was exactly what I was looking for to put a potential tear out deck back to use for several more years, and it looks great!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why is the color so off? I love the coverage of the product, but the color is so far off!! I had chosen Victory Gray. The color applied and dried to baby blue. We did the entire deck hoping it would dry to the color shown on the color card. All 4 gallons (they didn't have a 5 gallons bucket) were the same formula. The positve is that the coverage is fantastic. The deck was dark brown and new wood. We at least have a deck that is all one color, even if it is baby blue. Since the coverage is so good, we are going to try doing the back deck with a different color. Fingers crossed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total Disaster I totally redid our large deck with this product last summer. It looked good at first. By this Spring it started to bubble up and peel all over. You can grab ahold of strips and lift it right off. I did all the prep work as instructed and applied accordingly. At his point I am left with trying to find a way to strip the entire large deck and redo it with a different product (which will not be Cabot). After many years in the construction business, I am shocked that such a well known company would put out such a terrible product--something is definitely wrong with this product. The cost of removing this product or redecking is terrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product We have an older deck that needed some attention. It faces due west so it takes a beating during the summer months. I power washed the deck 2 times and then let it dry about 2 weeks before adding the deck correct. I put down the first coat one night and the next night put down the second coat and our deck is transformed into something that now looks great! Fills in the little cracks and no more little splinters. It does cover more than the label says which says approximately 75 square feet. I bought 2 5 gallon cans and I only used about 7 gallons and I was worried that I wouldn't have enough. I put it on pretty thick too. I will put the rest to use though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problems with Bubbles I followed the directions very carefully and made sure the deck was completely dry before applying. However, after two days, there are bubbles all over the place. Afraid we are going to have to strip the whole thing and start over with another product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst mistake ever Had my deck rebuilt 2 years ago and we used this product to create what I thought would be a beautiful finished look. We even painted the front porch to match. Huge mistake! The surface of the porch and deck have a rough feel to it like sandpaper, and it picks up every speck of dust and dirt imaginable. We cannot keep it looking clean. It appears to have pollen and mildew on it all the time. I have tried everything to clean it. No amount of elbow grease is sufficient. I do not own a power washer, and I cannot rent a power washer every time I want to clean my deck. In addition, clearing snow off the deck we found out it scratches easily. Never again will I buy this product. Thinking about hiring someone to sand and refinish the deck before I lose my mind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deck now looks like cement! UGH! I waited to spread at 73 degrees. But, still three strokes and the paint was so dry that it was pilling up! Paint is thick as milk chocolate brownie mix. Now the surface looks and feels like cement, not wood! The instructions should have a warning about painting when over 70 degrees! And don't over-stroke. Three strokes and hope the cracks got filled. AND one gallon dod not even cover flat part opf deck so NOW I have to buy another gallon of the stupid stuff!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color off, nice product I like the product And it power washed without chipping which is awesome for Michigan weather. I also like the texture. But I can’t get the gray color I want, it dries lighter then samples. My 1st color, driftwood gray, not only dried too light it is now stained from dirt. . This year I went and bought dark gray and repainted, It didn’t dry dark like the sample and dirt will be visible Again with this light coloring. I’m not sure what to do except charcoal and hope it dries lighter also but dark enough to hide dirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally peeled !!! Bought this product in August of 2015. Did the prep work (power washed) my 15 year old deck. The outcome was incredible filled cracks 1/4 inch deep and ended up with a nice smooth surface. I have power washed it every spring for mildew and dirt (New Hampshire winters are brutal). Just power washed it last weekend and got some peeling. Just ordered another 4 gallons to do it again. Never expected 4 years of service. Great product Cabot !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! For over 10 years we have struggled with keeping stain on our deck. In 2018 I used Deck Correct on my deck and it is the best thing I have every done! It withheld the Wisconsin winter, my dog being on it and moving furniture around on it. This is the best investment I have ever made!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Deck correct We bought 2 5 gallon buckets to do our deck. It looks beautiful but now we cant even walk on it because it gets to hot on the feet. So now cant even walk on it barefoot to get into the pool. Spent a lot money to not even enjoy it barefooted.
