Not a fan of the new design - give me old model
I bought two new gallon tea pitchers that were not like the photos in the description. These redesigned pitchers seem flimsy and not of quality in previous design. While I might could live with the body of the pitcher, I found the lid almost unusable since it is hard to take out or turn.

Design flaw
I like the 2 quart pitcher for iced tea but there is something wrong with the way the top works. Once closed you can’t easily open it. Seems to be a design flaw!

Lid design fail.
Purchased two 1-gallon-size pitchers expecting them to be like the former one. The sturdiness of the pitcher and the handle design is SUPERIOR in "supporting the pour," just like the old model. Rubbermaid is known for its quality products and it seemed my trust was well placed.
Alas, nope! What happened to the lid, Rubbermaid??? This newer incarnation seems to have a malfunctioning lid design. Buyer beware--the fully seated lid does not rotate easily, and it certainly does NOT lift off without a struggle! I managed to get it off by clenching the pitcher handle while gently wiggling-pinch-prying off the lid through the open pour hole and pour spout. The lid handle itself is short and absolutely useless--fingers and thumb slip off and lid stays stuck. I only hope it stays crack/leak-free longer than some reviews have mentioned. Hoping the lid will turn more easily after some use. Rubbermaid, please let us know if you have a fix for this problem. Thanks.

Lid removal
I've had this for a few weeks now. I only keep it around for comedic purposes like asking my teenagers try and remove the lid. LOL. They think they're so strong now that they're 14. I keep thinking about how my poor granny might try to open this thing if she bought one.

HORRIBLE LID DESIGN ON GALLON PITCHER
Rubbermaid is the only tea pitcher that I have used for years, however this last edition is horrible!!! I cannot get the lid off without a fight!!! Why wasn't there an indentation in the top of the lid or something to grip???? I hate to make tea now because I have to wrestle with this lid and I do mean wrestle! Is there something I'm missing?????

Junk
The design of the lid and handle is awful. The lid is almost impossible to turn and get off! The handle is too thick. Absolutely junk...I do not recommend. What was wrong with the original pitcher? It's not like the lid comes off when you pour.

Hate it
Hate the lid and the handle. The lid is hard to turn and hard to get off. The older style was way better. I'm not sure why companies think they have to change a perfectly good design.

Terrible design
I bought this pitcher about 2. Months ago if your an older person or have arthritis I. Your hand it’s very hard to hold I love the older one but this one had to go in the trash I’m looking for another brand that is easier to hold.
