Ariens 24 Snowblower
Purchased last year, I have owned Ariens Snowblowers for 40+ years, always perform excellent. This new model works great, new engine is fine, plenty of power, and easy to start and maintain.

Make the neighbors jealous!
Overall, a very well-built, stout machine. I’m a Toro fan, but compared side-by-side, this appeared much more robust. I’m very impressed with the LCT (Liquid Combustion Technology) 223cc AX engine; the compression release makes manual starting easy, it starts and runs flawlessly, and most surprising, I drained the oil after the first ½ hour and it was virtually uncontaminated. Chinesium engines typically shed significant metal debris during initial break-in, so LCT must have very high QC. Three very minor complains involving the lamp. First, it shines in your face. Masking off the top inch or so of the lens remedies this, but I can’t believe Ariens let this obvious flaw into production. Two, there’s no on/off switch. Why burn up the halogen bulb during daytime use? (And yes, it should be halogen – LED’s aren’t hot enough to melt snow/ice off the lens). Third, the wiring harness inline connector in front of the engine is unsealed and exposed to the elements, and I suspect the terminals will corrode over time. This is not the application/location for a cheap, unsealed connector. Other than that, I expect this machine to perform exceptionally for decades with proper care. One last thing - DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT use E10 fuel in carbureted power equipment, use only pure gasoline. Regardless of what Ariens/LCT says, see the “Project Farm” YouTube video on how destructive E10 is to small engines. Oh, and don’t be fooled by the carton size and the name “Compact.” It is ginormous when assembled and takes up a ton of real estate in the garage! That is all. Carry on!
