Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over 10 years old and still going strong! We've had this mower for over 10 years. I think we spent $450 on the mower back then. Initially used it to mow a 1/2 acre lot and now use it to trim a 3 acre lot. It just keeps on going. The wheel bearing on the drive gear went out this last week so we'll finally have to throw some parts at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best mower ever, highly recommend I use my Ariens mower, for my personal medium size yard, I could have gone with a smaller cheaper mower, but you get what you pay for, and I'm happy with my Ariens, it makes my yard work quick and proficient. Easy to start, powerful, fast, and easy to operate, and built to last. This is a mower that will last you 20 plus years when properly maintained, not cheaply built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lawn mower...so pleased I have used the lawn mower twice and love It! The casters make turning much easier than a push mower. I don't know why they stopped making this model in the US, but I'm really glad I got one before they were sold out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower A really fine machine. Maneuvers like a dream with the swivel wheels, and the speed adjustments are great; I have not yet been able to swalk behind it at the fastest speed (maybe that's because I'm 60) but still, it's fast and efficient and built to last. A good buy, and well worth the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really works! I have bought a supply of these twice in the past 2 years. I sent a supply to my daughter. I use them in the lid of the outside garbage bin, as well as under my kitchen sink. They really work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this stuff! We have a dog that we clean up after...'nuff said. I stuck one of these on the inside of my outdoor garbage cans and, WOW, what a huge difference! So happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't expect the self-propelled system to work (it won't). Do not buy this mower. I've owned the LM21SW Classic (911184) for 4 years, so I'm now out of warranty but that doesn't really matter since it has never worked right anyway. Since purchase, I have not been able to get through mowing my 1/2 acre lawn without the self-propelled system drive belt slipping off at least once (today it was 4 times and I finished the lawn, with the belt slipped off, as a manual mower) . During its warranty period, I had it serviced several times but it still never got through the lawn without throwing the belt. I'm more than 45 minutes away from this service center so it's a hassle to bring it there and it's the only one in San Diego County. I have replaced the drive belt 4 times, idler wheel 5 times, and idler spring 3 times myself. In fact, I now keep a supply of the drive belts, idler wheels and springs. When being serviced, at the authorized center, it appeared that the idler wheel, spring, and drive belt were also replaced each time. So we're looking at nearly 10 times and all this has been worthless. The design of this system is a belt and idler wheel which is subject to a flaw, the belt pops off the pulley too easily. It appears the inset of the main pulley wheel is not deep enough (or the flange is too low) and that the idler wheel is made of plastic (I've melted a few of these). I will never buy an Ariens with this type of self-propel system again and I recommend you don't either. Unless you like mowing the lawn as a manual push mower.
