Description
The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal vacuum is the first upright vacuum with Dyson Cinetic™ science. It's our biggest technological breakthrough since DC01: it has been engineered to solve the problem of cyclones clogging and losing suction. Inside, 35 Dyson Cinetic™ tips oscillate 5,000 times every second. They generate high centrifugal forces to separate the microscopic dust that clogs other vacuums. Because Dyson Cinetic™ science is so efficient, the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal vacuum doesn't need to rely on filters to trap dust as other vacuums do, so there is no pre-motor filter and no dirty filters to wash or replace. And it never loses suction! The whole machine HEPA filtration captures pollen, mold, and bacteria, and traps them within the bin. No other vacuum expels cleaner air.
  • All other lose suction. Only Dyson Cinetic™ science doesn't.
  • Better overall performance than any other vacuum, with HEPA filtration
  • 35 high frequency oscillating Dyson Cinetic™ tips capture the microscopic dust that clogs other vacuums
  • No dirty filters to wash
  • The only vacuum with no filters to wash or replace, so there's no loss of suction
  • Self-adjusting cleaner head
  • Active base plate automatically raises and lowers to seal in suction across carpets and hard floors.
  • Whole-machine HEPA filtration
  • Traps allergens and bacteria. No other vacuum expels cleaner air.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from nice vacuume but Don't let the no filters fool you. The vacuum gets real dirty inside You have to take all apart to clean it. Watch online videos My old dyson had a pre filter very easy to clean. Make sure you watch online videos on how to clean before you buy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just OK, with design flaws Have had this for 3+ years, and, while it works well, the hose flexes enough when you use the attachments to cut off suction at the bend, something the older Dyson we had did not do. It does NOT come with a floor attachment, so if you need a lower profile or easier to maneuver wand attachment, it is extra, and is a bit flimsy and hard to control.... again, not as good as the earlier Dyson we had. Finally, this one is supposed to do just fine without having cleanable filters, but it gets pretty filthy, smells like old dog (we have a few of those around, but this smells worse than any of them) and there is no way to clean all of the odor out of the machine, since you can only wipe out the canister, and there are no filters that can be washed, plus the turbine is not supposed to be submersible. It also does not handle small sticks, in case one gets sucked up inadvertently. Mine just went into overheating (I am presuming) and shut off, right before company was due, which is why I'm here, looking for solutions. I cleared the clog (small stick was lodged at the bend into the intake at the ball, collecting other material) and I'm hoping that it will work again, after it cools down, but 30 minutes later, no go. All in all, I appreciate Dyson technology, but wish I hadn't purchased this unit, it seems a significant step back in design awareness. I see that the new Cinetic Balls now feature a washable filter again, so maybe Dyson received enough complaints to re-think their approach. A newer model may be fine, but these flaws I've outlined are frustrating, given the cost and my previous experience with earlier models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbine Is a Life Saver for Pet Owners! I have had 5 Dysons, this is my 1st with the Turbine, OMG, What a Difference and a Time Saver, especially as You get a Little Older. I pass on the older models to the kids/grandkids. I am Dyson all the Way! I have other Dyson Products, hand-held Vac&Fan...Quality is #1.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money I bought this vacuum on Black Friday after months of research and reading reviews. I was so confident in my decision that I threw out our vacuum from the ‘80s upon the delivery of this one with glee. A decision that I regret. This vacuum is great for colored-carpets in an open space and the crevice tool is useful for under couches. That being said, getting into tight areas or close corners is impossible with this machine. If the hose bends it immediately loses more than half it’s suction as it is diverted to another vent on the stand up. The stair tool is a joke. I have a chocolate lab and white carpet on my stairs and upstairs in the bedrooms. After vacuuming the stairs and developing a full-body sweat from hauling this upright machine up the stairs and holding it with one hand so that it doesn’t topple down, and trying to vacuum with the other hand, the dog hair is still visible and apparent. A real shame since that was the primary issue I was hoping to avoid which lead to a new vacuum purchase in the first place. This vacuum has to be placed JUST RIGHT to stay upright or it falls over. Emptying it is an absolute nightmare. The first several times I attempted to empty it, it was a struggle and it resulted in my floor being covered in the dirt and hair that I’d just spent an hour vacuuming up. You have two choices, open the bottom and shove your fingers inside to pull the stuck dog hair (you know, the primary substance this tool was meant to clean) out of the canister and get covered in the dirt yourself. Or pull the top portion out of the canister and watch all the dust, dirt, and debris puff out all over the place while attempting to get the majority of it in the trash. I should have spent this money on replacing the carpeting on my stairs and second floor with a hard surface because if THIS is the “best product on the market for vacuuming animal hair”, I’d rather sweep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT VACUME my dyson vacume quietly passed away after 16 years of great use. i went to the store and fell in love again with the dyson cinetic big ball animal, has great suction and i love the way it moved on the ball, i hope i have another 16 year relationship with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great suction! This machine has powerful suction even with the wand. Somewhat concerned that the canister does not come apart like the DC17 I had previously. Dirt and hair would get caught and I would use air hose to clean inside part of canister. Not sure how that is going to work with this new model. So far, loving it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst sweeper I ever bought I bought this sweeper Feb 2017 and it is going to the repair shop for the second time. First the bottom hose broke and now there is no suction on the top hose. Plus when you remove the top hose to use attachments it is almost impossible to get it back on. Very disappointed, There are two adults and one cat in the family so it is not like it is used heavy. My cheap bissel works almost as well as this one and a lot cheaper. Will never buy another one or recommend it to anyone. The only good point is the repairs are free, but I still have to take it to the repair shop and pick it up and at my age that is a hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I had my previous Dyson for about 10-12 years and absolutely loved it.. Our house was flooded during Hurricane Harvey and with it my Dyson. I wish the old model were still available, but I'm learning to love my new one. Just a little different with the ball. Trying to get used to it. Thanks for making great products that last!
