Beautiful lights
We have been buying these exact lights for several years, as I always seem to need more when we go to put up our tree. :) Over the past 3-4 years, we have 2 sets that have about 1/3 of the lights out. I just hide these in the back and we’re all good. Have not had the immediate outages others have as stated in their reviews.

Over half of lights not working after 3 weeks.
Purchased at local hardware store, a True Value branded place. 5 boxes of 70 count and 2 reels of 200 count. Thought I was buying good quality at TrueValue. Not from my experience. Sitting down to trouble shoot since these lights were not cheap.

Not reliable
Bought eight strands of these lights last year. Worked great for one season. Wrapped them back on the spool they came with and stored in a cool dry place after taking them down. Next season comes around and none of the eight strands were working. 1/4 to 1/2 of each strand was out. Went back to local store and bulbs were mighty expensive for the number I had to replace. Ended up sacrificing one strand for replacement bulbs — replaced fifty so far. Eventually got them working, but when hanging them on outside trees, two strands were no longer working. Much harder to troubleshoot when lights are hanging on trees. Very disappointed with purchase. Hoped led lights would be less troublesome

Keep Dry
I bought 6 spools of these mini lights about a month ago. I put up four spools wrapped on the porch pillars and under the eaves and had one forth of the first stringer go bad shortly after getting them up. I found a bulb with a broken wire and replaced it and they have worked for over a month. However the two spools I put out on the landscaping had multiple failures of wires on the bulb rusting out and falling out of the socket turning of 1/4 of the stringer for each broken bulb. I have replaced up to seven bulbs in two stringers near the ground and one stringer of cool white in a tree. Most glass light bulbs have moisture in them so will continue to rust wires in the socket even after putting away. After checking out repair of stringers on the WEB, I find this is a very common problem with LED lights - sure don't have the same problem with my incandescent light stringers. So get lots of replacement bulbs and if you can, don't put these lights out where they are exposed to rain. On a positive note, the ones in the dry have done very well and putting stringer after stringer in one continuous circuit is really nice. I like the colors with the warm white being very similar to the white incandescent lights but the cool white can be brilliant white to a blueish cast depending upon brand and stringer type (bought one of the cool white mini's too and it had the same water problem). I did buy more as appears this isn't a problem with the brand but all LEDS so also bought lots of spare bulbs for next year.

Huge Investment = Huge Mistake?
I bought 32 sets of these (some online, some at my local store) to replace incandescent lights inside & outside of our home. When lit, they are bright & beautiful, and the warm color matches our pre-lit decorative trees and garland that have traditional bulbs. I love that I'm using less energy on the many, many lights we have. Also, I have not tripped our breaker once, even on rainy nights, which was common with our old lights. We received lots of compliments from neighbors on the clean, classy look of the lights.
The problems: I just had a 3rd strand lose about 1/4 to 1/2 of its lights, for no apparent reason. I was under the [apparently false] impression that these would be more reliable than incandescent lights. All of the failures have been in the outdoor sets. Some of the bulbs (working and non-working) now have condensation inside - not sure if their lack of being "water tight" is the issue. What I do know is that I'd hoped to go through the time & aggravation of installing these only once per season, but as I take down my third set & re-wrap a tall tree, I have every expectation that my frustration will be a recurring thing for years to come. Very disappointed...
