Scott’s Step 1 Fertilizer and Crabgrass Preventer
Not quite a month since this was spread on the grass, but turf has greened up and looks great. Will have to wait and see if crabgrass preventer is effective later this summer.

Not sure what to do with 2nd 3rd and 4th steps
I bought 4 step program thinking of avoiding lawn care specialist and I have applied step 1 Spring Lawn Fertilizer + Crabgrass Preventer It is almost a month and I am not seeing any improvement in the lawn .I can see weeds growing more than usual .I am not sure what to do with the other packages (2, 3 and 4) that I have with me.As I applied the 1st one allready I am not sure whether I can return the rest . As I am not seeing any difference I have given to a third party for the treatment of my lawn .

Good Product - IF you use it TWICE per year!!
If you read the product literature VERY carefully, you will learn that the crabgrass preventer only last for between 90 and 110 days. Therefore, if you don't want crabgrass in the late summer/early fall (and the following year as well), you must re-apply it mid-summer to get year-round protection. I don't know why Scotts doesn't make that critical fact more prominent in their product advertising. Otherwise, it's a very good product!!

Unfortunately this bag may have had a problem. My grass usually turns green after a few weeks of application but this one has not. I have been using Scott’s 4 step for about 5 years and the lawn looked great every year but this one unfortunately.
