Love the finish! Great water-based product.
We were hesitant to use this as others had issues with application. We did our research and followed all of the instructions. We sanded our 100yr old Douglas Fir floors with a random orbital floor sander through 36/60/80/100 grit sandpaper. There was a lot of gouging and damage from previous owners. Most of it sanded out quickly. We vacuumed the walls and floors thoroughly with our Dyson and then wiped the entire floor slowly by hand with a warm water dampened microfiber rag. We then applied Minwax 1 Step Complete Floor Finish in Gunstock color with a satin sheen with a water-based Best Liebco synthetic stain pad on a pole. I applied stain to the pad and then pressed it into the paint tray to remove excess product. I slowly walked and kept even pressure on the pole, working quickly and keeping a wet edge. This is a water based product with poly in it as well. After 2 hours we applied a 2nd coat and it blended well and darkened the first coat just a bit. After that we waited 2 hours again and decided to put on a 1st coat of Minwax Ultimate Floor Finish in Satin sheen. Both of these products must be stirred slowly for about 10-15minutes to mix the thick layer that settles to the bottom of the can. DO NOT SHAKE POLY or it will bubble up. We used the same applicator pad but a clean, new one. I used the same technique for applying the Ultimate Floor finish, by applying the poly and then pressing the pad into the paint tray to remove excess. I then walked slowly down to one wall and then pulled the pad back across the same line slowly to remove any air bubbles. It turned out beautifully! There was a slightly uneven finish but I knew from research I just needed a 2nd coat to make it smooth as glass. So we waited the 2 hour dry time and against all recommendations from friends who work with oil based products, we DID NOT sand the floors with 220 grit sandpaper. After the 2 hour dry time, we put on a 2nd coat of Ultimate Floor Finish. It's beautiful and we were even able to walk up to bed an hour later in socks. We will give it 24 hours before more traffic and will wait the full 3 days before replacing furniture and rugs. Our home is old with lots of old poor paint jobs on the trim, so we will be sanding it all down and installing shoe moulding once the floors are fully cured. People complaining I think are mixing oil based and water based products or not following the easy instructions to wait 2 hours for recoating. We used water based floor product stain+poly and put this water based finish over the top with no sanding between coats and no issues at all in the final product. The dark areas of the floor had former wear and damage so we are satisfied with our outcome.

Great product
I'm a first time floor refinisher. I used this on the really rough condition wood floors in my first house two years ago. After sanding the floors to lightly to ensure adhesion , I applied only two coats . Three hours apart . With a wool roller sleeve !! Rolled slow and even . Great final Finnish . Picture is three days after finishing. Its been two years . Still looks great . I used what was left to refinish my wooden chairs . I will use it again when it come time .

Fast hardwood floor renewal!
I bought this to rejuvenate existing oak floors and I’m happy with the results! The process is very simple: a light 220 grit sanding followed by a lot of cleaning and you’re good to go. Product is very easy to apply using an applicator pad and a paint tray. Coverage was good and pleased you don’t need to sand between coats. Considered applying a third coat but it seemed unnecessary. Spendy but I think it’s a good value given the results.

Bathroom Vanity
Bought this product after much research into water-based finishes. I wanted something durable, easy to apply and environmentally 'friendly' to finish a vanity unit made from Australian Ash.
Product appeared 'watery' in the pot but was easy to apply, (foam brush), and dried in a few hours. I lightly sanded after the first coat due to grain lift and applied 3 more coats over the following days.
Couldn't be happier with the results, super hard/clear finish which really brings out the figure in the wood.

Easy to use - Great Results
I've had this product for a couple years with the intention of refinishing our kitchen and dining room. When I started stirring the product I was concerned because of the thick goo that was at the bottom. It took 20-30 minutes to stir and mix in the settled product. Once I started laying the product down I was very impressed with how easy it was to use. Slow even strokes with a lambs wool applicator on a handle produced no bubbles or lines. I waited 2 hours in between coats and did 4 coats because it's a high traffic area. The results are fantastic. I highly recommend this product for ease of application. I hope it is as durable as they say it is.

Easy application.
I went back and forth on whether to use water based or oil based finish. I didn’t really want the yellowing of oil, the extra long dry time, and the massive odor associated with oils based finishes.
I read reviews, and was slightly nervous about using this product, but I has a suspicion it was more application error vs product failure, which is typical with any coatings. My suspicions were correct. I stained my floors with dark walnut stain, and three coats of minwax ultimate floor finish following the instructions meticulously, and have been extremely pleased with outcome. I have two dogs, and the finish has preformed above expectations.
Always be cautious with reviews, everyone in the DIY sector thinks they are experts. This was my very first floor finish job, and I’m over joyed with the outcome, and receive compliments on my floors with every guest who walks though the door!

very low odor, clean up is easy
I put down a new floor with no stain, applied directly to floor. I did 3 coats waiting at least 24 hours for each coat to adhere. I sanded in between coats with 220 grit. I noticed all the complaints were from people that had stained the floor first. so I can't speak for that process but its great for directly on a floor that has no stain.
