Works. great!
The LED upgrade kit works great, changing my dull, yellow incandescent Mini Maglight into a bright flashlight. The. Kit was easy to install and took a couple of minutes. Just what i was looking for!

Doesn’t fit in the maglite
The LED assembly is larger than the Maglite bulb assembly so now I cannot screw my maglite back together with the LED kit installed. How did this make it to market?

Have used these for years.
Have used these for years. Only issue was the old style switch, to replace the battery cap, failed. Fix was to install the old cap.

Gives mini-Maglite new life!!
I have several mini Maglites that were sitting in the drawer. For a while now I've switched over to LED based lights due to their superior durability, longevity and battery run-time. I came across the mini Maglites while cleaning out the drawer and decided to give this LED upgrade combo a try. I am pleased with the design, construction and functionality of the upgrade kit. The conversion install is very simple and works as intended. The light output is on par with the original mini-Maglite's halogen based brightness. I like that the on-off switch is now in the end cap. I can leave the flashlight 'focal point' set at spot and just turn the light on and off using the switch instead of having to rotate the front end to activate the light. Being that it's LED light the battery run time should be longer that with the halogen bulb. Overall, I am pleased with the product and would not hesitate to purchase more to retrofit other mini-Maglites.

AALED UPGRADE
I've never had the pins break in my maglites. The switch is a must as turning the head may break them. I've had the nite-ize flashlight which fails. This is the way to go, but if you need warranty work remove it and put the original in. Trust me I know.

IQ Switch operation
The packaging states that the switch has 5 modes of operation (3 brightness levels, slow and fast strobe) but no instructions on how to activate those modes. Does it really have 5 modes or is it broken?
