Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate and performs as expected [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Live in MA. Just used for our first storm. Got about 10 inches of lighter/medium density snow, which the snowblower handled well. Asphalt driveway which is about 150 ft long and gradually widens from 12 ft near road to about 25 ft closer to the house. Caught some crushed stone in the auger which wasn’t an issue. I probably got through 75-80% of driveway before having to swap out batteries, roughly 35-40 minutes of run time (I have other Toro 60V products and recommend buying an extra battery - they’re expensive but it’s worth the cost if you have multiple 60V pieces of equipment). The chute clogged on me a couple of times as I cleared out the entrance of our driveway, which seemed like it was due to the blower pulling in heavier snow/slush from the town’s plow trucks. Just turned the blower off, tilted it upwards, and cleared the chute. Happened a few times but expected with a single stage especially given the depth of snow. Easy to start and stop when chute clogged given it’s battery powered. I wouldn’t expect the blower to handle much more snow in terms of depth (won’t try it if we get more than a foot of lighter snow, probably 6-8 inches of heavier stuff). Unfortunately the chute deflector assembly was below average. There are clips on the main chute which must be pushed through a small half-circle slit on the deflector. These clips were bent irregularly (one was actually cracked at the base) when I opened the box. I ended up removing them. Chute stayed secure throughout first use but may need to drill small pilot holes at base of main chute and zip-tie deflector to main chute down the road. Disappointed with that part of the machine’s design given the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Model [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this to eliminate backbreaking shoveling snow by hand. Live in Homeowners Association and snow removal done by outside contractor if over two inches. Tend to get frequent snowfall less than that and didn't want big, obtrusive gas powered model. The 39901 electric model fits the need perfectly and requires virtually no maintenance and is compact yet has a lot of power. Will be the envy of our neighbors. Have purchased other Toro battery operated tools and very pleased with their quality and performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy assemble [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is more an unpacking initial review of the product. for a 21" snowblower , it's light weight. came mostly assembled. parts need to be put on myself is easy enough. I used a heat gun to soften the snow chute a bit to help with the install. I would like to see Toro use the same quick release type hardware for the handle as opposed to the star knob so one can unfold/fold the handle quicker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Going Electric New Toro snow blower replaces my gas powered version. It was easy to assemble, stores easily and I love the headlights and handle to direct the direction of snow throw. Hopefully the electric version matches the performance of its gas Sister. Waiting for the first snow, all charged and ready to blow!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy but very useful [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First battery blower. I had battery from my snowblower. Out of the box, put the battery in and was going in literally 5 min. Not sure how much charge left over. Seems a little underpowered until you hit the button for more push. Like that you don’t have to hold a button all the time. Only downside I see is weight. It does weigh on you after a bit and you will want to switch hands.otherwise all good

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powered through recording breaking snow! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little snowblower packs a punch! Bought this little snowblower because I absolutely loved my battery powered lawn mower and as a single woman I needed some reliable machine that would do the job well. With over 100" of snow this year, this beauty made it through some of the worst storms I've ever seen. My neighbors were even impressed with how amazing this little thing is! Kept up with the guys and even helped them with their driveways. The only con, which I knew this thing wasn't built for, is it isn't for gravel driveways. I bought it knowing that I would be paving my driveway. It just is so powerful that it kicks up gravel (but once your driveway freezes over, it's not a problem). If you've been debating on a battery powered anything, don't hesitate. It's a game changer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toro 21” Electric Snow Thrower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well-built quality machine. Almost no maintenance! There are a lot of broken uneven areas in my driveway and sidewalk. Yes if you smack into those it can jar you. I anticipate them and tip the front of the machine slightly to go over them. I don’t find it to be a problem. While the machine is not as powerful as a big gas operated snowblower I find it quite sufficient for my needs. 3 to 4 inches of snow on a Double car driveway. Long sidewalk on a corner lot. I was able to do all of that and the neighbors sidewalk and still have charge left on a 4ah battery. I bought this during a storm and that’s The only battery that was available. I have since ordered a 6ah battery as a back up. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the chute is very finicky to get installed and I think the manufacturer should revisit that design. Also, if you are having to go slowly over some of these broken areas barely any snow will come out of the chute . The force of the snow coming out of the chute is determined by how fast you’re walking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than expected. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The assembly was a breeze. I cut the side of the box open and just rolled it right out, lifted the handle up, tightened the handle screws, inserted the pole that directs the chute, and it was done! Easiest assembly of anything I've ever purchased. The battery has a convenient handle for carrying. After charging the battery, I easily slipped it into the machine, and when I pushed the start button, it immediately started. I tried it on my deck ramp, and it blew heavy wet snow with no issues at all. I am very impressed with this snowblower, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a light weight, easy to use snow blower. I am a female, 71 years old, and am now able to take care of my snow removal by myself. This is a win win for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lots of snow this year in Northern Utah. I was skeptical about this snow blower and our deep snow, but after doing research and reading lots of reviews I bought one. I was so amazed how it handled 12" of snow in one storm. Did our drive and sidewalks and most of the drive and sidewalks of our neighbor. Recharged the battery and went to my daughter and husbands house and let them do it and they were also so surprised it handled all their snow so well. It's the end of winter but they will get the same snowblower for next year. Great battery life and light enough to put in my SUV. An amazing buy and thanks to all the positive reviews on several websites.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Battery snow blower I like the ease of battery and the duration and power it has, I would have given a 5 star but didn’t care for the cutting edge as it’s to aggressive. It would b nice if there were skids on the bottom to keep it from grabbing gravel ect. I have a gas powered single stage toro which has always operated well, what I like about that is the rubber impeller pulls it along. I imagine the battery powered one impeller is steel and designed not to grab the ground to prevent friction and better battery life which is fine but a little less aggressive edge or skids would help a lot , I do enjoy everything else about it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Battery Power has its Pluses [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The battery powered snowblower vs. the gas powered model is easier to use, quieter and much lighter. It does an excellent job of cleaning a hard surface, such as a driveway or sidewalk. One drawback is that it is not self propelled, or pulled by the paddles. It must be pushed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Starts every time [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just as much power as my gas snow blowers. I bought this snowblower because I have 3 gas snowblowers that don’t want to start most the time. With the 70 volt battery, I don’t have to worry if my snowblowers will start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a solid performer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the 21" 60V Max electric snowblower (39901) with the 7.5 Amp hour battery. Here is what I love and what sold me. 1) I don't smell like a 2-stroke engine. 2) I don't have to mix oil and fuel. 3) Super simple for my wife to start. 4) It's light and compact. 5) Electric motors are simple and pretty reliable. Now here are some of my concerns. 1) The wheels are dinky, yep small. It's not a deal breaker, but if you have some big cracks or gaps it might be something you need to focus on. 2) Batteries....? You're at the mercy of a battery. Therefore you better have a contingency plan, mine was to purchase a 2nd 7.5 amp hour battery. I have a driveway that can hold approximately 15 cars and it depends on the type of snow as to whether a single 7.5 can finish the job. Basically it's just gonna depend how well the batteries do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. Even cleared 2 inches of ice balls [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gear box went out of my 2 stage so I went and picked this up. It is simple to use and throws the snow. We had a 6 inch snow and it worked great. The only thing I would advise is that if you have a gravel drive or a very uneven driveway, it gets stuck easy. I’m sure that’s because it cleans right down to the pavement and there is no way to adjust it to sit a little higher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wheels I had purchased this snow blower last year and it works great. My driveway is 50' wide with a turn around, a 12 x 20 deck, 40' walkway and a 40' path to the propane gas take. I have two 7.5 batteries which was more than enough power left over. My biggest complaint is that wheels are plastic so the snow sticks to them thus not being able to turn, even after spaying with silicone. They need to either pull the wheels in so that they to not stick out past or even with the blower or change the material of the wheels. The Auger is metal which I really like I wish that it had space for another battery and I could turn off the light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very powerful and well built snowblower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This snowblower is everything I hoped it would be. It’s lightweight, fairly easy to push and has a very powerful motor. First used last night in an ultimate test moving 8” of dense, heavy snow. It cleared about 80% of my driveway and sidewalks before the battery was drained (about 35 minutes). That is to be expected though, and I think this is a fantastic, well built machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m using this blower for light snowfall when my driveway isn’t professionally plowed. As a newly widowed woman, I am proud to say that I researched the Toro and put it together myself. It’s perfect for my needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made the switch to electric [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pro 1. Quieter than my 22-year-old, Toro 2-cycle, single stage snow blower. 2. I don’t stink when I’m done. No need to leave my coat in the garage. 3. Lighter weight; I intend to hang it on the wall in the garage. 4. With a heavy, wet, 5+ inches of snow, it cleared the drive, sidewalk, and most of the walkway to the front door before the battery died. Threw the snow adequately (maybe a bit less distance). Was set on normal mode, not eco. Battery was kept inside the house, so started at a “happy battery” room temperature. 5. Headlights were handy to see what I was doing at night to clear out the driveway apron after the plow came through. 6. Headlights also let car drivers in the street see me clearing my apron at night (safety). Con 1. When hitting a lip on slightly uneven concrete panels, it brings movement to a sudden halt with a “bang”, more so than my old snow blower. 2. Takes at least 4 hours to charge the battery with the charger provided. Turn around time would be solved if I purchased an electric mower with a 2nd battery. 3. Headlights are always on (no switch). Likely a small battery energy (run time) savings when operating in daylight; I didn’t do the math. 4. The chute crank handle came loose (unscrewed). When re-connecting it, the handle ended up 180 degrees off alignment, so will need to figure that one out. TBD 1. This model doesn’t have the paddles that make ground contact. I’ve only used it for one snow storm, so the jury is still out on how much of a factor that will be. I used that feature with the rubber paddles on my prior snow blower to grind off some packed down snow on the driveway in years past.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution for Smaller Driveways...Almost [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This single stage Toro is comparable to single-stage ICE Toros I've owned before. It seems a perfect application of today's cordless electric power capability. It takes a slightly different approach (higher RPM, smaller cylinder of metal blades that need to pushed rather than rubber paddles that pull) but the net effect is clean clearing with similar overall effort. The bright lights, quiet operation, and no gas are huge steps up. Just make sure you inspect the snow thrower before taking delivery. It is inadequately packaged. Parts jostle around in the box and the housing and scaper were cracked on the first one received despite no damage to the box. Be very careful snapping the chute into place. It appears tabs could be damaged trying to follow the drawings.
