Great hammer
Great little hammer to fit in those tight spaces. Very powerful for a 12 volt. Use it for the smaller jobs and to get into those tight places. Completes my collection of extreme 12v tools.

Compact and powerful
I got this drill a few weeks ago and this is what I came up with. If you're in the furniture business this is a perfect drill. It is small, lightweight, and yet quite powerful. However as I am a contractor it doesn't have quite enough guts for it to be very useful on a jobsite. But remember that I am mostly drilling holes 1/2 inch and bigger so if I am drilling a lot of small holes then this is the drill I grab. I have not used it to drill holes in concrete so I can not speak on that behalf. So as my final assessment I would recommend it if you are mostly drilling holes under half inch or driving shorter screws. But if you're planning on drilling bigger holes and stuff then jus get something that's bigger.

A great little hammer drill - impressive
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little guy packs a mighty punch for his size. I was using this to bore holes for a house rough-in, and also to drill into the masonry block walls in the basement. It handled both with relative ease, although the hammerdrilling was very impressive, the boring did not quite stand up to my 20V Max XR Drill/Driver. But, I did not expect it to. This thing is barely half the size & weight! For what it is, I am amazed. I think just about any homeowner and most DIY/weekend warriors (and even professionals in the lighter crafts) could retain this as their sole drill/driver and be perfectly satisfied. I am so glad I got this, and I can't wait to put it up to more tests in the future! Another solid DeWalt product. PS: the kit comes with a nice handy little carrying bag which fits it perfectly and (2) 12V batteries.

Amazingly Powerful and Compact
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for something like this drill for so long. I was a bit worried about how long the 12 volt battery would last compared to my DeWalt 20v, but that was unnecessary. To test it out, I immediately put it to use after getting it. I drilled 30 pocket holes for a cabinet, drove the screws to build it, then used the hammer function to drill 8 holes into CMU block to hang the cabinet. All on one charge. It only used 2/3 of the battery power, which is pretty amazing.
After the initial test, I have used it as my “normal” drill for a whole week, and I have used it fairly heavily. It has since gone on to drill another 10 holes into masonry using the hammer function, and drilled and driven countless holes and screws. I can honestly say that I will be reaching for this smaller 12v drill for most of my usual drilling/driving tasks from now on. It really can do everything that I’ve thrown at it so far.
The compact size and weight of the drill and battery make it very easy to use, and even permits one handed operation if necessary. This could be very useful for any jobs that require overhead use or elevated work on a ladder or platform.
The drill has plenty of torque and power for most tasks. I have yet to bog it down and find its limit during normal use. I would recommend this hammer drill/driver to just about anyone. It is perfect for use at home, and even for professionals in the trades.

Well-balanced, powerful, solidly built.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate the balance of this drill—it feels great in the hand. I am impressed with its power as well. It has handled spade bits, forstners, and driving fasteners very well. I’ve been happy with the hammer drill mode too. I found it to give the results of a larger tool but without the weight and size. I did notice that the electric brake stops the chuck a little slower than other drills I’ve used, but in actual use this turned out to not be an issue. Great, well-built tool. I highly recommend.

Well worth the wait
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DEWALT enlisted me in their sampling program back in September as well as sending me a list of products to choose from. From the list I chose the 12v Xtreme 3/8 in Cordless Hammer Drill, and they said it would take up to two weeks before I would receive my product. So I waited and waited, but eventually I received it in the mail about a week into November. Right out the box I was impressed with the weight, the feel of the tool, and the batteries. It is so lightweight but yet feels like a quality solid DEWALT tool and the revamped 12v batteries with their fuel gauge was very impressing. So my first test of its capabilities was drilling through concrete for tapcon screws in which it did with ease. And then screwing in the the tapcons again with ease. I would say for light to medium applications this drill shines, which is perfect for my job. My hats off to you DEWALT, you have made the perfect drill for me.

Strongest mini hammer drill

Now I have the perfect kit setup for drilling anchors in masonry walls for cabinets and picture hanging. Feels as strong as my 20v hammer drill, but weighs about half as much
