Try removing blade!
Like several of the other reviews, the nut holding the blade on was nearly impossible to remove. The locking mechanism shearded off very easily. Very disappointing design and quality.

Great when it’s new….until you change the blade….
Works as an awesome edger. Cordless 60v power. Once the blade wears down and needs to be replaced…good luck getting it off the spindle. The lock notch on the housing for the lock bar sheared the key way. Spindle nut is jammed and I’m not sure how to proceed now. No guidance in the owners manual, can’t even find tips on YouTube. This is a total bust and now I am without a functioning tool. In short. Awesome when new. Works great. Just don’t wear out the factory blade!

Blade retention nut was too tight
I just received this today. I tried to remove the blade so I could measure the center hole and order a spare. I followed the directions and turned the wrench in the proper direction (clockwise to loosen). The retainer bolt was on so tight, the cheap pot metal housing crushed before the bolt came loose. Destroyed this junker before I even got to use it.
I finally put the blade only in my bench vise, used a long wrench and was finally able to break the bolt loose without causing further damage to this thing (it is a 1"hole).
I hate returning things, so I tried it out edging my lawn. Unlike my Stihl edger, there is no front wheel or skid plate. As a result, the plastic housing scrapes on the concrete walkway that borders the lawn.
I finally read the other reviews that mention the same problems. Both are EASY fixes if anybody really cared enough to actually make this tool usable.
Soooo disappointed.
Never again

Unable to change blade without breaking housing…
The edger itself worked reasonably well, however as others have reported, changing the blade is made nearly impossible as the metal housing breaks when trying to secure the head from spinning while torquing the nut. Tried every reasonable way to do it but no luck essentially making this a single use (blade life) product. Disappointing as I’m invested in the Dewalt battery platform.

Blade Replacement not ideal
I've had two of these now and can't break the nut from the securing stud and it ends up breaking the metal housing. I've watched the videos and "how-to" but just can't get this to come loose, on two of them now. I had no problem with the brush cutter blade, but these are just not ideal. I would suggest finding another edger. I would have taken the blame if the second one came loose, but this is twice the metal housing (flimsy, IMO) has broken.

Manual
Great product but the manuals supplied are not easy to use and have parts that are not listed. There is NO mention of the locking bar. I had to go online to the Dewalt site to download another manual. I replaced the hard back of the guard with a thick piece of rubber to keep guard from hanging up on the grass.
