Picking the Flatiron off an outfitter shelf almost a year ago, this was, by far, the best knife of Gerber's I've had the good fortune to run across. For small hands--and my own are exactly that--the grip offers a lot of potential leverage where necessary, whether in heavy slicing or light-duty. It's an excellent EDC for what I do, in that I cut down half a hundred boxes in a day. I also haven't found a swatch of leather it won't part like butter, on those times when I section out folds for sheathes and other project ideas. Moose, elk, deer, etc. It'll shave, if necessary; it's excellent in the kitchen, on light-duty farm work, light whittling, most strings and ties, thin plastic cord. It's an excellent tool for what I need it for. Definitely my favorite of the Gerber line.

Flatiron clip
I bought this knife and i really liked it besides the clip was way to tight I tried loosening it and than it became to Loose so I tried taking the clip of and it stripped the bolts immediately other than that live there knife

Great Batt Knife
Absolutely love this knife. I do insulation and I am usually switching blades in my razor knife 5 times a day. So long as I sharpen this thing for 2 minutes In the morning it'll cut batts all day no problem. The little finger hook gets caught but as long as I keep my index finger there it's all good.

Crossthreadded hardware
I got the aluminum handles one with cr steel and the fastener hardware came crossthreaded and had no threadlock whatsoever. The screws actually came out in my hand as I was opening it within 24 hours of purchase and I had to go through and reset them all however I could not tourqe them down very well because they were crossthreaded originally and didn't want to blow out the threads. Very unfortunate. Other than that I absolutely love the knife besides maybe the steel. Hoping to get the d2 mikarta version here soon with any luck the construction will be better on that one.

Nice knife
Really liked this knife, it feels good in the hand and had a lot of cutting potential when sharpened, then jt went missing, think an mp stole it during a random drug inspection through the barracks

Awesome Knife
One of the best Knives I own for utilitarian purposes and it has a really cool design. Extremely sharp and easy to slice and dice with. Love to use it for cooking.

Amazing
Bought this knife a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it, ofcorse a bit of sharpening won't hurt, but the edge is quite good out if the box, im trying to find out what size of bit I need to disassemble the knife though. But this is totally a great knife, big and slim, beautiful shape and feels great in the hand, there is also a lot of mod pieces one could buy to truly make this knife their own

A great tool!
I work in a warehouse and open boxes all day. This knife is better than any box cutter I've ever used. Easy to sharpen. Stays sharp all day. The design is great for cutting food too. So sharp I could shave with it if I needed to. I don't understand the negative reviews, unless they got a knockoff. Highly recommended.
