Nice lock but needs work
Iv had this lock for maybe 2yrs. And it worked great until a few months ago. It was completely dead without a warning. I replaced the batteries which is a pain. After a few weeks the lock was dead again without warning. No beeps, lights. The batteries only remove from the top, so i have to remove my deadbolt to change out batteries. Not a good design. I dont know why the lock keeps draining batteries, but i plan to replace it with a different lock as this one is no longer reliable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for Mom, and it works well. However, one of the buttons is not as spring like as it could be. It still works, but for how long? Big issue, replacing the batteries will require removing the deadbolt already installed above the lock. Not hard to do, but not convenient. It's not a fail, but not a great success.
The batteries only slide out directly above the lock and not to the side for replacement. Many doors have deadbolts close to the door knob, I'm surprised the designers missed this. So I recommend this lock only for doors with out dead bolts close to the door knob..

Extremely Convenient to use!
We have a home in WA, we bought this lock for our front door, back door and
our shop. We were so impressed with it that when we bought a winter home in AZ, we bought the same locks for our security door, front door and garage door.
These locks are super easy to set or change the 4 digit CODE, my husband was surprised that I did it by myself, in less than a minute!
You can set your personal code and also set up a temporary code for house guest, construction workers etc... then change the temporary code when they are gone,
so l didn't have to worry about who still had our keys
They worked perfect for my son to get in after school, he was always loosing his key! Also, these are SMART KEY locks! Which means I was able to change the KEY in less than a minute, myself, with the little tool that comes with it.
I love the ability to use a CODE or a KEY to enter and the flexability to change both, myself, if a key got lost or workers were done with remodel. We really love having these locks and highly recommend them.

Really Great Lo k
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Customer service was excellent. I did have a problem with the set-up of my first lock. I contacted customer service to see if they could assist me with the install. They ended up sending a replacement which came really quick. Now the lock is up and running as advertised. No more leaving keys behind rocks, forgetting to lock the door, nor locking myself out of the house. Because it's a kwikset lock I was able to rekey a key that was already on my key chain. Not another key to add to the chain. I would strongly recommend this lock. It was very easy to install and I'm happy with the product as well as the excellent customer service.
