Description
Create a better, more-beautiful deck with the Kreg® Deck Jig. This concealed-fastening system works together with Kreg Deck Screws to allow you to install decking without visible fasteners, so all you see is the beauty of your decking instead of a bunch of screws. The Deck Jig features hardened-steel guides to drill precisely positioned pilot holes, and to guide Deck Screws to attach decking from the edge solidly and invisibly whether you're using solid-wood or composite deck boards. The Deck Jig makes drilling the stepped pilot holes and driving screws easy in all situations thanks to three hardened-steel guides one at 90 degree to the board edge, and two at opposing 45 degree angles that allow easy access when working near walls, as well as when creating strong joints where boards butt together end to end. The stepped drill bit creates a perfectly positioned pocket hole and clearance hole for the Kreg Deck Screw, while a stop collar ensures prefect drilling depth.
- Concealed\-fastener system for installing deck boards
- Easy-grip handle gives you a secure hold and complete control over each and every joint
- Hardened-steel drill guides keep the stepped drill bit and driver bit at the precise, optimal angle
- Handy spacer rings ensure accurate deck board spacing for proper drainage and longer deck life
- Three hardened-steel drill guides let you install deck boards in a variety of hard-to-reach areas
- Kreg hardened-steel drill guides feature a lifetime warranty

Save your money
Screws don’t fit the guide collars. Cheap plastic parts. Soft metal driver bit strips out after 300 screws. Bent drill bit. Unbelievable really from Kreg. Pure junk. Crested a real problem for me as I was in a remote location with access to a lumberyard. I was stuck with what I had. Basically free handed the screws as best I could after trying with the jig. I’ll not risk a Kreg product again. I have never been so passed off at at product/ company in my life. It’s a betrayal of trust.

Deck Board Jig: 300 sq ft Replacement of PT Boards
The jig and accessories worked pretty much as advertised. Just finished a 300 sq ft deck, and found the jig does slow you down compared to face screws, but the finished product is superior. The old deck was face screwed, and the holes had all deteriorated with wear and deck stain; I don't expect this will happen with the side screws. One must be careful to use the hardened guides, where I found that inserting the drill bit before applying the juice prevented any binding up. I have two issues, one serious, and one minor. Minor first: I found that the drill bit chewed up the PT splintering at the surface of the pilot hole and needed to be smoothed after screwing, with the result still being visible. You don't get a nice round un-splintered hole. Maybe it was my technique, but almost every hole had some degree of splinter. More serious: I ran out of COATED Kreg 2' deck screws. The supplier sold me two boxes (200 screws) of Stainless Steel (SS) Kregs (they were out of coated and back-ordered). So, the COATED (cheaper) screws were flawless and the drill bit never slipped, skipped, or stripped. Never. Not even once. 700 screws. The SS ,on the other hand, even with a new Kreg driver bit sucked! The bit would easily slip out of the screw head and within seconds spin and round out the "female" indent. With great effort to not damage anything, I had manually back them out with pliers, or use a center punch to drive one in if the head was too deep (weakening I am sure the bite!). I was very careful with drill pressure, attitude (straight on), and adjusting the torque setting to slow-as-you go, and as I said using a fresh bit. Totally aggravating! Probably 1 in 10 did this-I thought SS was harder than other materials! To repeat, the COATED screws had not a single strip! My advice, try each screw out yourself, or just get the coated and skip the SS!!!

Worked fine, maybe the drill
Worked fine, maybe the drill guides are a little too flexible. If not careful the bit can walk a little and the hole location ends up a little high or low.

Hidden fastener jig for deck replacement
Sorry, haven’t had a chance to use them yet but my experience with similar products forces me to give this rating despite that. Quality-made products, innovative and prior need for this type of product after making “do” with inferior ones. Good job, Kreg!
