A Nice light at a fair price
The product was fairly easy to install and going into six months of service it seems to be fairly quiet. The only short coming is that the fan and the light have to both be on at the same time. As this is in a small guest bathroom it works very well in circulating the bathroom air.

Model 744 - nice unit and easy to install
I selected and installed the Model 744 to add ventilation to an existing half bath. I followed the supplied install instructions and had no issues installing the unit. I found the instructions straightforward and easy to follow. The unit has been installed since mid-November of 2020 and I'm very pleased with its operation.

Less Moisture = Cleaner Shower
Took a lot of work to keep tiled shower clean with the only vent in a nearby toilet closet. After installing this fixture over the shower, the shower is much easier to keep clean. We usually leave it running for 30 minutes after showering. Fit easily in place of the previous recessed light fixture.

Excellent combo light and fan unit
Excellent lighting within the shower and having the vent within the shower eliminated my otherwise steamy windows. Quiet and efficient with no major reworking job. Just needed to cut prior light hole larger. Easy installation. Keep the unit 1/8 inch above the ceiling to eliminate vibration noise.

744 SFL performs exactly as advertised
I installed this fixture 3 years ago and it has worked exactly as planned. I use a 220v steam generator everyday (see in photo). I installed a relay that cuts off the humidity sensor 110v power when the steam is on. When the steam timer stops, this relay returns power to the humidity sensor which turns on the fan in about 20 seconds. It runs until my shower is bone dry then turns off even with the door closed. I foresaw that the sensor may cycle if the house humidity becomes high so I installed a separate switch that manually turns off the humidity sensor system if needed and I have a separate timer for manual fan operation. I use a GU24 day white 4100K LED bulb that is like sunshine in the shower. The only issue I have had that moisture on the top of the bulb base has tripped the GFC, but a little WD40 on top of the bulb base has stopped that. Great product. Billy Ferguson

Great unit for small bathroom!
My wife and I were shopping for a bathroom fan that looks good, is quiet, and keeps the bathroom dry after long showers. My bathroom requires a fan rated for 64 CFM minimum. We selected the Broan 744 with a rating of 70 CFM. The fan is quiet and the recessed installation appeals to us. Shortly after installing the unit, however, I noticed that long showers resulted in moisture on the ceiling. I went up the attic to inspect the installation and re-taped the exhaust duct to the unit for a good seal, and also re-positioned the attic insulation flat/against the top of the ceiling sheet rock to minimize condensation due to the cold air in the unheated attic and the warm bathroom. This helped alleviate moisture on the bathroom ceiling after showers. My only recommendation to readers is when determining minimum CFM required, note whether your installation is ideal per Broan instructions. If not, consider purchasing a fan that exceeds the minimum required CFM. For example, if you use a corregated duct in lieu of sheet metal, or have an additional 90 degree turn or elbow, don't hesitate to select a fan with a higher CFM. The Broan 744 has been installed for nine months and is meeting my family's needs and expectations.
