Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love dewalt but this is a flop. Truck had a dead battery. Bought this because it was in the 20v lineup. Hooked it up followed the directions. Light did nothing but flash after several minutes. Tried to start the vehicle and it was still dead. I swapped batteries in the vehicle so I could move it. Again the battery was low. Tried it again and still wouldn't not touch my truck battery. Debating returning it and getting my money back or cutting my loss and waiting for spring and trying to use it to at least jump start my mower. Honestly the cheap jump start pack from HB worked a lot better. Even when my truck had a completely dead battery it would start it. Im not talking about the big battery one that the battery craps out (why I chose not to get the one from dewalt either) before you have a reason to use it again. I'm talking about the pocket sized one (in comparison) has never let me down except for the cheap plastic clamps. Thinking this one having a swappable battery and metal clamps would do just as good if not better. But very disappointed in it. I also tried it in another vehicle with a low battery and same thing. Ended up jump starting it with a different vehicle. Truck is a v8 and the car is a v6. Debating keeping it in my new car which is a 4 cylinder. Btw I'm not just advanced diy I am a millwrite by trade but that isn't an option.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great idea, poor execution. The positives: It properly transforms the ~18v (20v) packs down to ~14v for charging while also limiting the amps. No risk of over charging a lead acid battery. The small size is nice. The Negative: This works great for batteries that are slightly low, but it requires a "minimum voltage" to activate. I tried three batteries I had laying around and it would not activate on two of them -- that means this is completely useless to those batteries. They both were low at ~8 volts. Directions mention that the minimum voltage is necessary to detect proper polarity, without saying what that is. Why so high? Shouldn't 2 or 3 volts be enough for polarity detection? My car's battery was down to 8v last week and it's working fine now. My lawn mower battery is shot, but for the 4 times a year I use it, I just boost it, start it and mow. Great idea, nice design, but the terminal flaw of not activating makes this pointless. I'd rather have nothing than something that I cannot count on when I need it most. Returning to store.
