Not well designed
I wonder if Dewalt engineers ever try the products they design? I bought a new stand since my ‘98 model was starting to show some wear. I was excited to get the “new and improved “ model, only to be let down once i stared using it. My biggest complaint is the sliding material support arm lock. You lift the new plastic lever (replaces the old knob style) to loosen the lock and allow the arm to slide out. Push down to lock. Ok, great. Except that in lock position the lever is lower than the stands A frame. So when you carry the stand and slide it into your truck on its bottom, the levers have to be in the unlocked position or they’ll get broken. Each and every time i load up, an arm comes sliding out at me as im pushing it into my truck. I even tried to swap the old knobs off my first stand but apparently these parts cannot be removed or adjusted. Time for another model revision.

Mounting brackets
Mounting brackets are cheap plastic that broke the second time I mounted the saw

Grand Stand with Fatal Flaw
I love the design and light weight of this stand. Unfortunately, the mounting brackets are complete garbage. My kid has plastic toy tools more durable than this thing. The utterly astounding thing is that there were countless negative reviews from other customers with the identical experience and I purchased that stand anyway. What an idiot. Ok DeWalt seriously! I would be ashamed and embarrassed to put my name on something this crappy. Its an easy fix!!!!!! Why do you keep producing it? Enough is enough. For the next unsuspecting customer who is thinking they will ignore these reviews as just some disgruntled customer with a one-off experience you have been warned. Do not waste your money unless you have the ability to reverse engineer and build your own mounting brackets for this stand.

Flawed Mounting Brackets
If the mounting bracket(s) fail within the first four months of ownership, I don't much see the sense in an overpriced stand. An absolute terrible design. It all bears on a cheap plastic, moving part with plastic knobs that break off. Such a shame as it is otherwise, a great portable stand. I'd only recommend if there was a recall on this part of the stand. Needed a reliable stand, but this one is just collecting sawdust.

Great stand let down by weak plastic parts.
The stand works well, but I found that the plastic levers on the mounting brackets break easily and can't be replaced other than by buying a completely new set of brackets (with more weak plastic levers). This is disappointing given the quality we've come to expect from Dewalt, especially given that the stand is sold as 'heavy-duty'.

Truly Great Miter Saw Stand
I just finished assembling my DWX723 Miter Saw Stand. It is the longer, heavy duty one with moveable material support arms, saw mounting brackets, and all the hardware. It is great. The table itself sets up in less than a minute. The same for folding it up to put it away. I have mounted my saw on the brackets and then clipped it to the table with the included quick disconnects. The saw is solid. The stand is solid. The outwardly canted legs ensue little or no wobble. It is a very stable platform. The brackets ensure that the weight of the saw is well balanced on the platform (forward and back). The material support arms are easy to adjust for length of stock. The elevation of the support arms lines up perfectly with my saw. I am ready to start my next project: replacing the wooden louvres used for crawl space ventilation. It is well engineered, fabricated, and assembled. It is excellent value considering cost, quality, and functionality.

Awesome stand
As with any purchase you are always skeptical when you spend your money on tools. As a professional carpenter I have had many types of saws and stands. I love this stand. Some guys like the wheeled version, however I’m old school and take my saw off and store it. Very light weight but very durable. Most people may have negative things to respond with but I have abused my stand and have not had any issues what so ever.
Only draw back is when working with true size timber’s use your braces. Other than that I buy another in a heartbeat.

Great Saw Stand
I have been using this stand for well over two years and is is a great piece of equipment. It's very stable and doesn't wobble at all. Moving it is a little cumbersome but just take your time. The only real issue that I've had is with the sliding/adjustable material supports/stops. The cheap little lock down knob was worthless. It's a little two sided knob that didn't last but just a few months before both sides cracked a fell apart. I use these a lot and also found that getting my large fingers in to turn the little two sided knob was frustrating at the least. Dewalt should have spent another dollar and supplied some wheel like knobs. I replaced my broken knobs with a round one with finger slots. They work great and lock down very easy and secure.
