Better than corded!
I always hated using my corded hedge trimmer, and was skeptical about getting cordless, as I didn’t think 20 volts was going to give me enough power to do the job. After reading a lot of reviews I made the plunge, and was very pleasantly surprised. Compared to my old cordless trimmer, DeWalt’s has larger teeth, cuts thicker branches, and the blade is 2” longer. It is clearly better constructed than my old one. I used a FlexVolt 6.0 AH battery when I first used it. It had almost continuous use for 26 minutes, and the battery only dropped 1 bar of charge (⅔ remaining). For jobs less than 25 minutes or so I think I might even be able to do it with a lighter 2 AH battery. Great tool. Highly recommended.

By far the best power trimmer I’ve ever used
Quick and sure hedge cutting. Light weight and easy to handle form uniform manicured look. Super sharp blade and plenty of power to get big jobs done. So nice not to have worry about severing a power cord.

Great functioning tool
I bought this a week ago as a bare tool. I use a 5 amp battery from my drill. I find the tool powerful and the battery long lasting. The tool is relatively light and easy to handle. The batter charges quickly.

A sheath is a functional and safety necessity. A hedge trimmer sold without a sheath is like a car being sold without wheels.

22" hEDGE tRIMMER

I now have about 5 Dewalt items all with common batteries and no more cutting the cord as I did occasionally with the corded trimmer. It is relatively lightweight and easy to use with a functional lock out feature to prevent accidental start up.

Great trimmer!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a year ago and love it. Blade is very sharp and cut a long time on one battery. I use it trim back tree branches brush also. So much easier than my gas hedge trimmer and way easier on my back. I have had gas and corded electric hedge trimmers and this by far the best of any I have ever used!

Lightweight easy to use

Very function and enough power for most hedges
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned this hedge trimmer for a year now and use it to trim oleander, roses and mexican sage. We have a large orchard and it's held up well, cutting through even the toughest oleander. Battery life is good, I get about 45 mins per 5Ah battery. You might want to have a couple charged if you have a lot of work.

Great tool, cuts through tough bushes with ease
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally pulled the trigger on this hedge trimmer. I used a different brand for a cordless trimmer for the last few years, but the batteries are finally dying and since I have so many DeWalt batteries it just made since to go with the DeWalt. This thing is a beast compared to my old unit, so much more power and the longer reach is great for those bigger bushes. I've used it about 4-5 times and with a 5 or 6 amp flex battery, no problems at all for the entire job. The only reason not giving it a 5 start is no protective sheath on the unit. For the price, I would think it should be standard to protect the unit. Nice tool, no regrets, get it and you will be trimming all the bushes in the neighborhood, lol.

Good Product, But anytime you buy a product with sharp cutting edges, I would think the company selling the product would have a guard covering the cutters, not the case with this hedge trimmer, I would have given it a 5 star otherwise.
Even in the instruction manual on page 9 it list the components and a guard (Sheath) is listed, must have been a packaging mistake, should have been included!.
